Japan Gets Dragonball in March 2009

According to Variety Japan, Dragonball will premiere in the land of the rising sun a month before the U.S. This is definitely a good thing for Japan (I hope), but maybe not so good for the U.S. This decision will unfortunately lead to bootlegs of the film.

I bet it comes out March 27th in Japan, a week before US release, that way Japan still gets its jewel and fox minimizes bootlegs. A Whole month just seems absurd.

This isn’t an f-ing video game! I’ve never heard of a company releasing a major motion picture in a single country a month before any others! This is such bullshit!!!

This is f*cked up! D< First they move the release date to April 2009! And now Japan gets to see it before us! I know Dragon Ball was originally from there, but what the f*ck?! Make it come out at the same time, DAMMIT.

You are right this is bad news for US fans, it’s almost like what happens in other countries when the US people get to see Movies a week or so before them and in the case of TV programmes up to a year earlier.
How dare the Japanese treat you like that?

    >>;;; @ JoseMP

I over react time to time. It’s just I’ve been waiting to see what a new DBZ movie would look like with today’s tech.

But yeah, kind wish it would at least come out before October 2008. *sighs* Damned, Fox.

Not a fat lot of good will premiering in Japan do for Fox. There’s a boycott for this movie going on in Japan, and the movie’s surely going to flop over there.

Of those few in Japan who will actually go to the theatres to see what this movie looks like, I’m sure nearly all of their comments will be about how terrible it is or how their expectations were utterly betrayed, which means no matter how Fox advertises this film over here it will certainly do a lot worse than the other ones screening next April.

You can’t really say that. I mean, it’s possible if will flop, but it’s also possible that it will succeed. We won’t know until we see the movie.

Hey I think its great that its coming out in Japan first. It IS their baby after all, now fully grown and known world wide.

I bet Dragon Ball: The Magic Begins will still be BETTER than this crappy looking Hollywood flick anyway.

Hollywood makes shit movies…. seems like theyre remaking EVERYTHING now adays! REAL ORIGINAL! (SARCASM)
They also ruin our childhood memories. They destroyed Speed Racer, Transformers, and well basically any series turned into a crap movie.

And I HATE CGI in Live action movies. It’s absolutely unrealistic, plus youre putting stuntmen out of jobs! Shit, If you had dreams as a kid in being one, they sure fucked you over! Oh hey how about the special effects when a mass production of carnage is needed? Fuck CGI, make your own graphic effects using actual formulas. dont forget cool make-up and movable masks! (perhaps similar ideas to that of ancient transformation masks)

And as for Swanny the Aus… Dont listen to these stupid seppos. There are more intelligent Americans some where out there…. (i hope) hahaha.., maybe its only me.
I’d rather watch “All Aussie Adventures” with Russel Coight than Hollywood’s bogus theatricals any day. His cheesy jokes are always great! hehe

Dude all american movies take at least a month before it even reaches japan. Don’t be a bunch of pricks, you guys are lucky enough to see it a week later, let alone a month.
