Saiyan Island

I don’t think people realise how much we appreciate some cartoons, and some computer games the way they are…so why do they spoil them EVERY time? This is my reason for not watching this film. I was always a huge DBZ fan and could not wait to watch each episode. I was distraught when I missed Goku turn SS3 for the first time, because I was on holiday. However, I am positive that if I watch the film I will be disappointed, and I know I won’t know unless I try but based on what you guys are all saying, my prediction would be correct. Besides, I was never into Dragonball because I started with Z, then watched GT because I felt I owed it to them, but I was too busy being a teenager to watch Dragonball. I suppose I should watch it to make sure I can give it a proper verdict though. Take care people

i think for the sequel they shoul make Goku look more like goku from the cartoon and make the special effects way more better i liked the first one but i didnt like how no of the characters kinda looked like them in the cartoon like goku in the piccolo saga wasnt he supposed to be a little kid not a highschooler?!?!

Movie comes from a different perspective. Cartoon and movie will never be alike, there are too many variables and it cannot be plotted in the same way. Story and entertainment wise I do agree it could have been better, but for all of those who are saying that the movie was nothing like the cartoon, its obvious the lack of intelligence you are showing.

I just finished watching the movie and i thought it was pretty sweet. i wish there was more training for goku like a sweet ass montage or something. picollo was kind of gay in it tho. cant wait till the next one

They need to make Goku have kid and make Gogeta be in it! and Vegeta!

hey man iv loved the DBZ cartoons ive seen every episode every dince i was a kid now im 19 n i still love the shows n when the movie came out i got it the day it was on sale i watched it n thought that it was a good ass movie though i thought it could have been better on Picollo but still the pple who made the show did a damn good job. And yes i agree with some of the others on Goku havin a child n Vegeta bein on there n yes they have to put more training n fights in the show make it exactly like the Cartoon is.

I have been listening to what some people have to say and some of you are just so pathetic in saying they f’ed up. Though the movie didn’t turn out the way I had expected it to, like from the manga it was still a pretty good as a movie. The characters were good, they dropped some which was a little off to me and I thought everything went along well. I read the manga which came before the anime. Beside is any movie you watch exactly like the book or the anime? You’d be very surprised, but then again there is a thing called freedom of speech, and you’re free to think how you want. Give something a try, if you don’t like it like some people didn’t, don’t watch the next ones.

i watched the film and loved it me being a DBZ fan of course.you all got to bear in mind that a film adaptation is goner be viewed by alot of people who dont know the the story of drgonball z like we do and so i think the story in the film was thought together brilliantly ). im glad there bringing out a sequel that im sure will bring the story further on and like the dragonball series did this one will make me happy too

This movie even if not a DBZ movie was a disaster so many plot holes I almost broke my leg just watching it.

There is so much rich story fodder to the DB and DBZ story lines they could have had a rich tapestry. Imagine this! a story told through Krillian’s eyes to open the franchise. Something different like that but still good.

This move was so bad it was painfull.
I own all the seasons and most of the movies. I would say I am a fan. I have seen all the movies just didn’t like them all enough to buy them. I even saw the recent special they had with Vegeta’s brother in it. So to say you liked it because your an actual fan. I don’t buy it. If you were a fan you would have cried.

As far as movie adaptations and the changes made for a general audience? this thing couldn’t even get Sci-Fi to put it on as a sat original movie it was so bad.

Who ever liked this movie is on crack… and not the one that makes shit feel and look good.

as a stand alone movie not based on the dragon ball series it leaves much of a movie to be desired.if someone that never knew about dragon balls watched it they would be confused out of their mind cause there are so many things left out
and if ur a dbz fan u have to say its an adaption and leave out all that you know about the dragon ball franchise but still you know the little details of the plot so it makes sense to you…as saying that this movie shouldnt be called what it is

cause it makes no sense for this piece of crap to be out there it was very disapointing in a movie as itself… the last fight scene was horrible …5 punches and a stupid jumping kamahamaya that looks like a giant fart in the sky…
also i was high at the time and shit looks way better high… and no this movie was bad i was horrified… and yes wen i sobered up i looked it at it again and it was still just as bad

in the piccolo saga goku was a teenager the depicted him as a little kid, so they did a good job on that but i do have to saw they could do better of spfx and making piccolo look more like he did in the anime and manga,

i’d like to call myself a big fan of DBZ and say i know the maj of the story but one thing stumped me.

when i watched the film i seem to recall it depicting that piccolo put goku on the planet and that he would use the uzaroo/goku to destroy/rule earth

which to me destroys any chance of a sequel, serious the only way up from this is starting the film saying “Well you know how we said piccolo sent you here….we lied and this is in no way an attempt to make a stupendous amount of money from die hard fans”

Ive been a massive DBZ fan for a long time and wasn’t to disapointed by the movie, it was cheesy as but the kamahamaha’s and fighting looked pretty sweet. They needed to explain everything better as a non-DBZ watcher wouldve had a very hard time following what exactly happened. It wouldve been heaps better if they started from the saiyan saga with vegeta but hopefully thats what the sequel will be.

Well i must say this is a treat to think that alot of you thought for one second that the DBE movie was good let me explain why it was so bad. First I would like to say I understand the fact that you have to consider the fact that they can’t put all the details in because it is a movie so they will have to cut corner’s believe me i do understand but how come they have piccolo looking for the dragon balls when his people were the one who made it from the start. Now i do like the technique they were using to trap piccolo that is DB but the other thing is the fact how goku was the person they picked had a better shot at playing vegeta because look goku was a care free loved to fight and eat guy he had no worries and yet they put him in high school when he really raised himself in the mountains, but i could understand that this is a movie not the anime. i’m sleepy sorry i got more to say but i’m going to bed

I loved the DBE movie. Why? Because it was a holl lot more realistic than anime…
I mean come one, small kid alone in the mountains, talking animals that changes their form, very long monologues that lack logic…
The movie is short and it has few gaps thats true, but besides that it’s very well made. Goku actually had a reason to travel witch Bulma and Roshi, and kick Piccolos butt… Another wonderfull thing is that there are no nuclear explosions, no craters that are the size of Poland, no billions of people getting slain and then magicly brought back to life. DBE shoves us how dragonball might been in real world…
I think it is an excellent film, and i cant wait for next parts

Actually Goku in the Original Dragonball Series was 14. While he was short of stature he was still a teenager. So for movie purposes they aged everyone about 4 years.
Bulma in the Manga was supposed to be 17-19, in the movie she’s out of college. Do the math, most people get out of college at about 22, which is about 4 years older than Bulma in the Manga. See what they did, they aged the entire cast about 4 years to better tell the story on screen. Movie HAVE to be adapted to big screen in relation to the source material. Hell even Transformers was readapted. Yes, there are some continuity errors, but this happens with ALL movie adapations.

yo honestly.Dragon Ball evolution was not done justice by the creators of the movie film.i am a dragon ball fanatic and i was totally upset by the creation..It appeared to be low budget and what was up with the transformation of Goko to his ultimate source of his power..What a pathetic illustration…There is so much things i can go on with but what the hell.If someone is going to make a movie like dragon ball bring the money to produce the film properly or don’t make the film…Please consult with real people who are fans of this story..And watch the cartoon….For a greater source of understanding…Fans want to see the visual reality of the cartoon version and not a interpretation of a water down version that morphs the essence of the story info crappy production….If there is going to be a sequel…Major upgrades are necessary…

Look, Dragonball Evolution was a baaad movie. Period. I agree that they didn’t have to put talking dinosaurs, or freakishly weird hairstyles and colors, but that’s it. They had no need to change the attitude of Goku. He’s the hero of the Anime series god damn it! You don’t change the attitude of Goku! That’s just wrong! You portray him to be who he is. Happy, carefree, and spiritually sound.

They could have made Bulma’s and Roshi’s reason to follow him however they wanted to, I don’t care. But… they messed with everything! They did whatever the fuck the wanted and savagely only took whatever they wanted without any dedication or admiration for the series. They betrayed the fans all over the world.

I was really looking forward to this movie, but seriously… the way they messed it up, I can’t even believe that you people say that it was a good movie. It was not only a bad dragonball movie, it was the worst movie ever made!

If ONLY they had taken it slowly, and taken it from the beginning, none of this would have needed to happen. Show it from the beginning, introduce Goku, and krillin, and Piccolo. Make him chase after the dragonball and take him down. Show Goku to be trained beyond a human. To be more than need for weapons.

And what was that shit about air/fire/water bending?? They just ripped that of AVATAR and did their best to Americanize the whole damn movie!

I hate the crew and I hate the people who did this movie. They’ve pretty much ruined my dream of watching an AWESOME dragonball movie.

Look if the people want to make a sequal for a dragonball movie all they have to do is put in 3 simple thing and the ratings will shoot threw the roof and the box office will go crazy, all they need to do is put in vegeta, frieza and most of all this will be a big hit a super saiyen.

i enjoyed the movie. You can’t watch a movie based off of a cartoon and be critical….you just have to enjoy it for what it is..this movie was pretty cool in my book.
