Well said Adam. I’d say it’s a bunch of kids being dicks because they’ve got nothing better to do, but then again Dorkyfresh is obviously no kid, so that’s not the reason. I can’t imagine anyone on this planet who resembles the cartoon more than this Chatwin guy who for whatever reason was born with tennis ball eyes, a tiny mouth, pointy nose, dumbo ears, and basketball player height… You have to be blind not to see how ridiculously perfect his look is for the character. That and if you watch any interview, he sounds like he’s on another planet while he’s talking, possibly dreaming of food. Like I said before it’s like some people want for Dragon ball what happened to sailor moon. 4 of the characters are obviously not asian ethnicity, yet the live action versions are all cast that way and it looks ridiculous. So shut. The. Fuuuuuuuuuuuunk. up. they did this right.

instead of just crying about goku not being asian and bulmas hair not being blue enough or the dragonball isnt supposed to float, (all things that are done and we cant change) and all this is based on a couple of pics by the way, Cant we just talk about the movie? talk about the kind of promotion they might do, what we think they should do to promote, i wonder how much they are gonna spend on promoting? what we expect to see, what were excited to see, what we hope to see in the movie? talk about some characters like krillin, if he might show up later maybe in a sequel, is puar or oolong gonna be in this maybe as just real animals that dont actually talk or did they just do away with all that completely fake stuff? who is ernie hudson gonna play for sure? who do we think he should play? i wonder if theyll use real city names in this like tokyo, new york, LA, you know, instead of the fake names they used in the show, i think it would give it more realism using real names. what about the box office numbers we think itll get, i mean, what we truly think the numbers will be, not just what we want them to be. how does speed racer affect this, probably negative right, i think the trailor, if good enough, will make speed racer not matter, Dragonball just has a much better story than speed racer… lets talk about something good on here, come on

This is going to be terrible.

Let’s talk about the tone of the film. These obviously make the movie seem dark and mystical. Looking at James Wong’s past films, it seems like he’s going for a similar dark tone to those final destination movies, but I hope he’s got more epic scope in mind, something like lotr but with the levity of harry potter. What say you to that?

Seriously, sometimes I wonder if people would prefer we fans kept hoping someday they’d make this movie. Sure it’s late as hell but damnit, it’s still a dream come true. I wish people would stop being cynical about it. We all know you watched and enjoyed the series just as much as anybody did back in the good ol’ days when cartoon network wasn’t full of shit.

Well, I guess he looks okay. The hair’s kinda cool. Physically, in Dragon ball he wasn’t as bulky, but he was pretty cut. I can’t really tell how buff Chatwin is by the pic, but hey maybe they’ll show his intense training sequence in 100 x gravity next film, as he bulks up. It’ll be interesting if they filmed part of the film as Justin normal body size, than shoot the other part of the film after he bulks up, and show it as a result of his intense training. That’ll be kinda cool. He should work with the 300 guys.

I don’t know how they’re gonna do the flying thing, or the aura without it looking cheesy, but I guess CGI can do wonders.

The trailer description sounds ok but it focuses too much on the tournament which is not a good thing at all.

They should have more than just the tournament action scenes.

(disreguard the music, youtube is filled with nothing but crap AMV’s rather than actual clips) You see that at times Goku is pretty scrawny, but than they show him actually kinda buff as he powered up and crap. Don’t know how they’ll handle that in the movie, but they’ll probably won’t be any shirtless fighting scenes so I’m guessing he won’t really need to be that buff at least now anyways.

So the buffness is going to have to wait til later on. I’m still kinda skeptical on how they’re gonna do the aura around them without it looking wierd. Justin does have that goofy dumb look though. I was one of those people who thought Goku should be an asian guy, and Justin was way too skinny, and all that jazz, but now it looks slightly promising.

I love the people that claim that if you think anything good about the movie, you’re not a “tr00 fan”. Which is completely stupid. Most of those kids probably thought Dragonball AF was real, or consider GT to be canon.

I’m a supporter of this movie, not to say that it will definitely be good. I just HOPE it turns out well. I can deal with an adaption, maybe because I’m not an anime fanboy PURIST. And this is coming from a fan who owns the entire collection of original japanese figures and complete volumes of manga and Daizenshuu. Get off your high horse kids, open your mind and at least attempt to support the movie like any rational fan.

did anyone see the movie The Covenant? i only bring it up cause that movie had a couple scenes that had a little similarity to what a dragonball fight could look like (but the dragonball scenes looking about 100x’s better of course) they were flying and throwing blasts at each other in there, now im not trying to say that it had awesome effects or anything but considering the estimated 20 million dollar budget it had, they didnt look all that bad.. some of the flying looked like they were hanging from cables and the blasts looked like water balls from a super soaker 5000 or something but think about it, this movie had a bunch of no name actors and the story was about male witches… insert dragonball characters and dragonball story and add 80 more million to the budget and this movie starts to look pretty damn good or at least very promising, so for everyone saiyan.. sorry, i mean saying how this is gonna suck and be so terrible… what are you thinking? the first xmens budget was about 80 million, you kinda see what im saying here? how about giving a movie with a 100 million dollar budget a chance before you start bashing it, if it sucks in a year then by all means, bash away, but do you think they just threw all that money away, i mean, i hope they didnt, it better have been put to damn good use!

I saw the “Covenant”! My uncle is the one who told me about it. He thought since I like Dragonball I would like the Covenant. Boy was he wrong!! Anyways, I watch the “Convenant” and man that movie was bad. I admit I was kind of into it in the begining, but then they would mess the groove up and do something cheesy. The more I watch the movie the more I began to do this

It was totally lame and cheesy!! It was predictable and didn’t get me excited in any way. I wanted to turn it off as soon as I saw the final fight scene in the barn. It felt like they were rushing the movie and trying to hard to make it cool. The special effects was ok, but it was all over the place. They didn’t use the special effects very well!! well thats exactly the points i was trying to make, thats what you get for 20 million and a story about male witches. i cant say it was a complete pile of crap though, maybe a piece of crap, but there are so many worse movies out there. your uncle saw the similarities though with some scenes and effects and thats all i was trying to say… now imagine Dragonball with 5x’s the budget and much better characters and story, makes The Covenant look like a bigger piece of crap dont it

im not just trying to base the success of movies on the size of the budgets though, cause we all know sometimes you get Speed Racer, but the bigger the budget the more promise and potential for the movie

finally listened to podcast 4 and it had a lot of good stuff in there, i like what adam says about how not only does the movie have a 100 million$ budget but that they also have 12 months or so of post production to spend that budget… thought that was an excellent point, good stuff guys.
