Fox Says Script is Fake

According to Movieland, the full “draft” we posted earlier by Ben Ramsey was a fake. The fragment (with Ma Fu Ba) we posted, however, appears to be real and found left by crew members in a restaurant.

Again I have communicated with Christina Inman (Manager of the Fox in Mexico) … via mail she said she had received information from the Matrix Fox (20th Century Fox USA) … and they were told that there is no worry because this screenplay will not be the film … it’s false.

I’m trying to contact someone very close to production for their views now, but I do not have a response.

And it is logical what Christina Inman says, if true, Fox had not asked to withdraw from all sites and I have not seen any sites taking them down because the script continues to circulate freely … so they might not worry about a fake circulating.

Regarding the fragment of script that has appeared, I had knowledge of it from a few weeks ago, and it is real, that sheet was found in [a] restaurant. Perhaps the scene was deleted, re-written or discarded.

I’m actually quite relieved if this turns out to be true. While the script was entertaining, it was certainly not the best. Get our opinions on the script in episode 6 of the podcast.

Hey anyone know why jp’s site leads to hairspray.com? That’s just fuxed up. Well anyway I knew the script was a fan-fiction since it seemed too unprofessionally written. I’m surprised anyone thought it was real at all. Is it better written than 90% of all fan fiction, yes, but that doesn’t excuse the silly wording in places and the general nonsense about goku in highschool. First of all, since when do kids actually go one full minute in highschool without insulting each other? It just isn’t done, too unrealistic. That’s the nature of the beast. You go there to get torn apart by people you’ll never see again for the rest of your life. duuuhhh… And goku cried like spidey did in his movie. WRONG. WRONG. WRONG. I don’t think goku should express sadness at any point in this movie unless it’s about his grandpa’s death.

sigh, well that’s that. When the fuck do we get a trailer, fox?

    New dragonball news woohoo
IT IS TIME TO GET NAKED AND FUCK A SAIYAN!

  19. Krillin
    June 12th, 2008 at 11:27 | #19

Well, I found myself skipping through some of it….

….but out of sheer curiosity I had to go back and read it….

And thank god its fake. Bulma should cuss like a sailor, yes…. but not every other word. It was a bit rediculous. And where was Goku’s naive love of life and driven sense of adventure purely for the sake of good!? He was so pent up and angry.

And did anyone else catch the rediculousness of Yamcha’s joining of the team? He speaks two scentences with these strangers after getting his ass Kicked by Goku, and is ready to join their team?

I’m a writer myself, and I am fully confident that I have written many scripts that far surpass this one… I’m just amazed that if this IS a draft (which I believe it is), that it was even looked upon and considered professional material! Good lord…

The only thing that gave me hope from this “script” was the Krillin cameo. I hope they’ve retained that within the newer drafts….

The script in my opinion wasnt bad except for the ending! There needs to be a good fight between Goku and Lord Piccolo! Then the super explosive ending not just hey piccolo ….bye piccolo!

I’m glad it want the script being used in the movie. Goku is too wimpy and nerdy, and Bulma is tooo badass, even though thats not a bad change, because it makes up for Launch not being there.
I didnt like the whole Bulma meeting Goku. She told him that HE needed HER help. It should be the other way around. Goku should have picked up the truck and thrown it, and Bulma shoot him. I still liked the other one where Goku was shot, but it should just be more of an ouchie than affecting him a little like in the script. Krillin should make an appearance similar to the one he made here, and then take a bigger role in the sequel, when the saiyans appear. Also, the Oolong part did nothing but take up movie time. What the hell was the point of him?? we don’t need that there. It would have been better to introduce piccolo there and make him kill people.

This script is too much like star wars, and I don’t like that. Star wars is a good movie, but I don’t want other movies biting off of it thinking it would make them good.

oh well. this isnt the real script anyway.

Okay. I hated the script and was thrilled to hear it was not what they went into production with. This does not in any way mean it wasn’t written by Ben Ramsey.

I’ve been looking for the scripts, ‘Love of a Bullet’ and ‘The Big Hit’ online. Those are the two other scripts Ben Ramsey has written. I can’t find those scripts ANYWHERE. If anyone can find them, please post a link in your comment. You can usually tell a writer by their writing, especially when they’re either really good, or really bad which is the case with Ben Ramsey “I think.” This won’t really give us any further Dragonball movie news, but it will tell us curious few if it is truly a fan script or if we should stay away from anything else Ben Ramsey writes.

If you have trouble finding those other scripts it’s probably because no script site cares about them. OR, on a more romanticized note, maybe Ben Ramsey is a computer hacker and erased all of his previous scripts from the internet when his Dragonball draft leaked, so that people would think it was some die-hard fan who wrote it and not him. Personally I want to believe the latter, but logically I think its that no one cares about his writing.

But if anyone cares to make this connection go for it. If you think I’m crazy, then I’m crazy. I’ll still search in my free time, which isn’t much, so I need YOU (not trying to be Uncle Sam or anything) to prevent forest fires… Damnit! I’m all mixed up now. Just, if you’re interested this might just solve the puzzle.
