Fox Says Script is Fake

According to Movieland, the full “draft” we posted earlier by Ben Ramsey was a fake. The fragment (with Ma Fu Ba) we posted, however, appears to be real and found left by crew members in a restaurant.

Again I have communicated with Christina Inman (Manager of the Fox in Mexico) … via mail she said she had received information from the Matrix Fox (20th Century Fox USA) … and they were told that there is no worry because this screenplay will not be the film … it’s false.

I’m trying to contact someone very close to production for their views now, but I do not have a response.

And it is logical what Christina Inman says, if true, Fox had not asked to withdraw from all sites and I have not seen any sites taking them down because the script continues to circulate freely … so they might not worry about a fake circulating.

Regarding the fragment of script that has appeared, I had knowledge of it from a few weeks ago, and it is real, that sheet was found in [a] restaurant. Perhaps the scene was deleted, re-written or discarded.

I’m actually quite relieved if this turns out to be true. While the script was entertaining, it was certainly not the best. Get our opinions on the script in episode 6 of the podcast.

    June 10th, 2008 at 11:59 | #5

that doesnt mean its a fake that means it was draft, and is not being used in the film cause they have a completly revised script

  6. June 10th, 2008 at 12:02 | #6

  7. June 10th, 2008 at 12:04 | #7

@Deadlock: Yeah, good enough. But fox did use the word “fake” hence me quoting them on it.

  8. June 10th, 2008 at 12:11 | #8

Should we see a Teaser Trailer This Month?
and i am also happy that they are not using that script :D
it was an awsome script tho :D

  9. June 10th, 2008 at 12:14 | #9

LOL, wow! Sooo, who made the fake scritp? Man, the person that made the fake must have a lot of time!

  10. June 10th, 2008 at 12:18 | #10

@Kinglame: I’m guessing it’s a draft made by Ben Ramsey that was thrown out. Fox now says it’s “fake” which isn’t quite true but true enough since so much has been changed that the revised script will hardly resemble it.

i found an interesting video on youtube of Emmy Rossum talking about her character Bulma at some tv show screening. Its right at the end of the video. she says she just finished Dragonball, she had to die her hair blue, ride motorcycles, and shoot alot of guns. heres the link. she starts talking at around 5:45. its not much, but its something :P

    THANK GOD.

Honestly, the entire thing seemed like a shoddy rip-off of Star Wars. Bulma = Leia. Yamcha = Han Solo. Goku = Luke Skywalker. It was so similar that it was just too much to take. The dialog was also very cliche and trying too hard. ><

Not to mention that that script basically tossed out all of what made Goku a unique superhero in the first place. He’s not some angsty teen who plays card games, who despairs at being “different” who dislikes having to train with his granddpa, and who blows off his only family and friends when they try to throw him a b-day party. That’s just the exact OPPOSITE of Goku, who is a kind, naive, very positive person, doesn’t let the bad stuff get him down for long, and is a very active, out-doorsy person. Seriously, he’d probably be bored as hell if he had to sit around playing a lesser version of Magic the Gathering, lol.

Well, sorry for the rant… just felt like venting. But yeah I’m soooo glad that this was a fake. :D

OH! And can I just add how awkward it was in the script when Goku’s grandfather JUST died, and he’s all upset about it, yelling at Bulma that, y’know, his grandfather JUST died . . . and then everyone starts cracking up over Bulma’s name. WTF.

  15. June 10th, 2008 at 12:34 | #15

    @lebnash1: That’s pretty cool, thanks! :-)

    June 10th, 2008 at 13:45 | #21

But the Christina Inman lady doesn’t back anything up and it all seems as if she’s pulling the answer out of her butt. I really don’t think she has all that much involvement in the production. And it does not really fully say it fake or it sounds as if they (Christina( said don’t to worry it not in the dragonball movie the post on hoycinema put the…Fake part on there so maybe he miss under stood her she could have meant. That the script is not the one there use which means this one could very well be one of the first drafts

  22. June 10th, 2008 at 13:49 | #22

@HInkle: She says this came directly from 20th Century Fox in the US.

This movie is going to be Freakin’ HUgE!!
If a fan took there time to make this and everyone is willing to read it. WOW!!!! I wonder how the real script is like? ANyways Adam said it best….

Im not even kidding Im so mad i read the entire thing. DAMN IT!! and now i suppose weaver isn’t going to die. FYI it was my belief that since goku’s two friends from high school died that… maybe weaver would too. Someone has no life out there and i truly feel sorry for them… however i also think they are really talented.. some parts were really amazing… the ozoru thing(don’t know if i spelt that correctly)… all Im saying is props..(i know your reading this after all you do have no life)

I still don’t understand why everything and everyone even Emmy herself say her hair is blue when the pictures clearly show its not. Maybe I’m jus thinking to much. Ad also im pretty straight with this script being fake perhaps it was done by somebody in college. I’m sure righting a movie script wouldnt be that hard to do for someone studying to be a screenplay writer.

  39. yeahyeah
    June 10th, 2008 at 22:46 | #39

People wonder why someone would write this screenplay if it is in fact a fake. but look what just happened. The whole dragonball movie community has just been turned upside down.lol its actually quite amusing to me haha

  40. Chase2007
    June 10th, 2008 at 23:07 | #40

One thing that gets me from the fake script is all the stuff about the pinnacle of excellence and understanding time and all that stuff…..WOW……really deep shit! If it really has NOTHING to do with FOX then that is some good writing right there. Ya it sucked overall, but damn kudos to the deep thought.

  41. Moi
    June 10th, 2008 at 23:15 | #41

@Chase2007: You are joking, right? o_O That was hardly deep, so much as it was cheesy ramblings of pseudo-philosophy. It’d be better if the author of this script had dropped it, or at least expanded it beyond the shallow pondering that it presented. . . .

Anyway. I guess you at least gotta give whoever wrote this thing credit for following it through so thoroughly; it’s really rough around the edges, but isn’t a half bad skeleton of a screenplay. Unless it is indeed an officially unofficial first draft from Ramsey, in which case . . . how the heck did he get half a million for this stuff? XD Could’ve been much better.

    June 11th, 2008 at 01:06 | #43

@Adam: maybe she was embarrassed to be talking about Dragon Ball Z in the first place. DBZ unfortunatley has this immature nerd stigma coming from it still. I don’t know why because it really shouldn’t but it does. I guess that’s how people see it that don’t know what the heck it is in the first place. 8)

  44. June 11th, 2008 at 01:19 | #44

aah.. would fox jus give us a Trailer ALREADY!!!

im thinkin of making another one:P. but id rather see the real deal!!!

what a relief!!! I said it was fake and I am glad I was right. that was like Star Wars,Spiderman, and MK:Annihilation combined bad combination lol!

  46. June 11th, 2008 at 03:31 | #46

@John: YEah I agree you said it best dude!!

@Emperor Adam: Sorry to keep bothering you Emperor, I know your really busy finding the Dragonballs and finding new ways to destroy Goku. But I just want to know what did you think of my Dbthemovie.com video??

    8) Neo glasses Fly Neo>>>> Fly!!!!

  47. June 11th, 2008 at 04:17 | #47

I like Emmy Rossum hair. Her hair looks soooo much like Bulma live action all she needs is 2 blue streaks in her hair. You guys want it to be like DOA all fake looking. Her hair is good!!!!

  48. June 11th, 2008 at 04:25 | #48

Blue hair looks good for a cartoon, but not live action. If they make her hair all blue that means you have to make the movie colorful like Dead or Alive.

    god that script was horrible.

the dialogue, the horse riding, wtf.

  50. Matthew
    June 11th, 2008 at 05:22 | #50

first off it was far from a good script and all I was saying was that it had some really good parts. Its what i would expect to see in a dragonball movie. I really despised the entire dragonball fad that was going on in the beginning of the script. Where goku’s teacher talks to him about the myth of piccilo and when his friends are playing a drgonball video game. It reminded me of spaceballs when yogurt was selling SPACEBALLs merchandise. Its lame to have that concept in this movie and that is really why I thought it was fake. Second “the dragonball world” didn’t turn “upside-down” just because some fan boy made a script. If anything it pissed me off because I thought it was fake to begin with, within the first pages. THEN EVERYBODY on this site was saying it’s real so i read it and now im really mad i waisted my time in doing so.
