This movie will suck. Dragonball was perfect the way it was and this movie completely misrepresents the entire point of the character Son Goku, and the philosophy he represents that gave the manga and anime the quality that they had. Goku was an honest, innocent and naive little kid who even when introduced into the chaos of the over dramatic and jaded world he had grown up oblivious to, reattained his purity and turned most of his foes into friends WITH NOTHING BUT HIS SINCERITY AND HIS DEDICATION TO PERFECTING HIMSELF AND ENJOYING LIFE. He wasn’t a pissed off, unpopular 18 year old American kid who looks like he takes life too seriously. If they make a movie that everyone here likes, I think thats awesome and I’m really happy for all of you, but the point of it being dragonball is gone since the heart and essence that made the show what it was are the two things they chose to throw away, replacing it with more of the stereotypical excess action sequences and constant shit being blown up that has kept viewers from giving the story a chance to begin with. I don’t even think Toriyama could have made this into a movie, simply because the story was a long epic, and it’s clear by the amount of time they spent on this film, as well as who they got to direct and star in it that all they see in this movie is a chance to make some cash. Even though these later batman films that have come out are not consistent with he original story, at least they stayed true to the heart of the character and made movies about that, which is why those movies were so good and are continuing to attract a wider audience of viewers (not to mention the awesome director they have and a PERFECTLY casted roster of characters.) If you’re not going to make the movie based on the essence of its original its useless to even try. i can think of at 100 ways that dragonball might have had a chance at being adopted into a movie that western audiences would find enjoyable, with a film formative story that retains the same feeling as the original and could make the shows haters take a second look. but even as a director I never would try, unless i could beat a company like 20th century fox to the punch, because i think the story is better in the hands of someone (like you out there) who knows the sotry and characters well enough that they could write any movie based on the essence and feeling alone and it would be better than this POS coming out next spring. I would even say that a true fan making this film would get toriyama in on it

None of you cares that his HAIR IS SO SHORT ???!!!! COME ON, this is DragonBall, there’s no need to try to make these characters look “more real” – it should use CGI and all that crap to make it look more extreme than the actual manga !!!

Does anyone notice that everyone is Asian but the main character and villain…why not make it an all Asian cast? And why is piccolo’s suit in the gallery look like batman’s….

Ive been waiting for a DBZ movie to finallly come out……im just upset at the characters…..i believe robin shou ( liu Kang) from the mortal kombat movie would have deffinately played a better goku than this guy….. i dont even know who he is…………….i wanted to go see this movie in theartes but if its gonna be like this i may not even bother paying all that money and if i feel like watchig it ill probably get in on bootleg for $5…………..

the reason why the cast is not all asian is because it’s anime, anime characters look/are white and speak Japanese. giving a live action directer room to choose a (white,asian,or both aka mystic) person to play an anime character…… Those Japanese(artist) LOVE white people . “they” love “them” long time
all of you future anime drawers, if you want your live action character to be asian in a future movie, then draw your characters more asian looking, by not “giving” them blond hair and “big”blue eyes and small pointy noses.

Nobody should talk crap about anything until this movie is out, cause alot of ppl are hatein’ the way it looks and the way the man is lookin’, or dragonball is shyt, just calm down and watch it for yourself, it looks like a badass movie styll.

I don’t really like the gi at all, but I think the hair is cool and the best it could be without it looking just silly. I’m looking forward to the movie. (please include Krillin). But as a fan I don’t think I have to like everything about it. The gi just doesn’t do it for me with the pants belt arm bracelet things. Think it looks kind of wierd.

I’ve been unimpressed by many Dragonball movie pictures, but this is pure badass!
Not disappointing to the least. This is a picture that makes me excited to see the film.

The film could be the next Dark Knight, or the greatest catastrophe ever.
I’m fearful of the latter.

Holy shit. this looks awsome i put as my wallpaper for my comp. Im pyshced for this movie all the way. the gi has its differences but its an adaptaion and i like it. Mixed reactions or not this film may be the next Dark Knight.

Wow, Justin actually looks like a teenage Goku from the back with the spikey hair and near perfect costume, too bad James/Lord Piccolo doesn’t stay as faithful to the character look-wise.
