Gabriela de la Garza in Dragonball

September 7th, 2008 Leave a comment Go to comments

In an interview with Informador, Mexican actress Gabriela de la Garza revealed she had a role in Dragonball.

“My character is virtual! It’s like a computer, to all who arrive to the city and want communicate with her, gives them instructions. The hairstyle, clothing, everything was fantastic. ”

The actress explains further that “always shot my scenes with green screen (green screen that allows overlay landscapes) and James Wong was directing me, is a great filmmaker.

The article goes on to say that the film’s setting will be futuristic.

Almost a year ago, the director James Wong was visiting several countries, including Mexico, looking for the perfect place to shoot the film version of live action, Dragon Ball. And he was convinced by Durango, where are deserts and snow and Santa Fe, in the Federal District, to recreate the atmosphere of the original comic by Akira Toriyama.

In the first place he recreated the fight of Goku and the devil Piccolo, as happens in the animated television series and in the second a city of the future.

a part of me wishes that James Wong was pulling a “Michael Bay” on us and all this stuff is a cover up for something amazing, but, wishful thinking i suppose…

@Walsh: it is only for priveiledged people, but since you want one so bad, you can say “FOR WALSHIA!!!”

and if that fails, you can always use the generic one and say “THIS IS SPARTAAAA”

    :P

I’d like some texture to the tights of the saiyan armor. As in sorta like spiderman.
Maybe take off those massive shoulder things.

@ROBERT G!!!: LOL ROBERT G!!! WITH AN EXCLAMATION MARK!!!

only thing about joaquin phoenix is that he needs to lost some weight and gain some muscle. and i didnt like that extra fat he had under his chin. lol.

and please people, no more about mini me being krillin. hes tooo small. he would be shorter than gohan, when he was taller. plus he moves awkwardly like a midget, when krillin moved like a normal person.

and… by the way, goldberg is 6′4, while phoenix is 5′8, so the height difference would really be seen

  12. September 7th, 2008 at 21:35 | #12

Nathan Jones is even bigger than goldberg, and goldberg can’t act.

  18. J
    September 7th, 2008 at 21:49 | #18

@Jadix: Goldberg is one of the worst ‘actors’ I’ve ever seen. Just watch that stupid Van Damme movie Universal Soldier 2. I saw about 5 minutes of it, it was a laugh riot thanks to the bad acting. Here’s Goldberg’s face the whole time I saw him in it.

    HAHHAAHAH!!!

    September 7th, 2008 at 21:59 | #21

Joaquin is too chubby and old looking to play vegeta, ray park is the best choice I think. And Perlman for Nappa, he has the voice and the size. If you don’t know who he is, he plays hellboy and was the first choice for king piccolo.

  22. J
    September 7th, 2008 at 22:00 | #22

@Jadix: Chris Angel is muscular? Tim Roth is way too old and ugly to play Vegeta. He just plain doesn’t look a thing like him. Nathan Jones would make a good Nappa.

Chris Angel as Raditz? That’s a horrible casting choice so I wouldn’t be surprised if it were true.

  23. September 7th, 2008 at 22:04 | #23

@Jadix: well any big guy who can sahve his whole head and grow a moustache can play nappa. he just has to act good.

and they better make him freakin bald. no HAIR. god. they did it with master roshi and grandpa gohan. dont do it with nappa!!!

and @Jadix: I would believe IMDB more than the other sites.

    http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1630927/bio

    it says hes 6,0

either way, if they find someone else whos tall enough, can act, and looks raditzy enough, then its fine with me.

How old were you all when you first watched Dragonball and not Z
I was About five My earliest memory is Goku on nimbus /pilaf/mai/Shu. No One In Kindergarden knew what I was talking about lol
15 years later and I still love it.

  26. J
    September 7th, 2008 at 22:21 | #26

@Walsh: I was 14 or 15 when I first really got into it. I saw it when I was 8-10, something like that when it FIRST came out in the U.S. and Ocean was doing the voices. I didn’t get into until about 3 years later, but couldn’t watch it because I lost cartoon network for about 5 years.

Yeah it was on YTV early mornings and I use to get up at like 5 just to watch it and it wasn’t till years later I watched Z / knew about it. Then watching random chinese pirated GT episodes made my dragonball universe shatter I was soooo confused

@Walsh: My first time watching Dragon Ball was when I was 16 lol. My first time watching DBZ was when I was 7. I’m 17 now so do the math and you’ll know how long I’ve been a fan of the series.

I knew about DB since I was like 10, but never got around to watching (as the DVDs weren’t really sold in stores).

bwahahaha we already know what he looks like. But cool pic anyways. I like the costume from the back. He wears baggy pants similar to the anime (nice touch) and a top armor kinda looks like it’s from metal gear or the batman movies, very cool. And he wears a big red robe over it obviously from the trailer shots. He’s going to hopefully be the most evil son of a bitch we’ve ever seen in a movie.

    i like his costume

  39. September 8th, 2008 at 09:00 | #39

i am glad to hear about the futuristic cities being kept and i think they will place the movie 2000 years from now (the setting). but no offence i have explained about CRISS ANGEL being raditz so many times some people are so slow i found that out 2 months ago so why express it now.

  40. September 8th, 2008 at 09:06 | #40

i wonder if piccolo will fly or just jump really high with that cord in his back?

  41. September 8th, 2008 at 09:13 | #41

@fhernandezy8: i think he will be jumping since he is on a cliff as it looks or maybe he just flies down.
either way he still looks good and i am loving the outfit.

  42. September 8th, 2008 at 09:23 | #42
