Gabriela de la Garza Interview

September 17th, 2008 Leave a comment Go to comments

It was just recently revealed that Mexican actress Gabriela de la Garza would have a small part in the film. We were curious about the role, so we asked her a few questions about it. Thanks to Sean for arranging the interview, and a big thank you to Gabriela for taking the time to answer the questions!

DBtheMovie: What is your characters role / purpose in the movie? How long were you on set?
Gabriela de la Garza: I am an Avatar, and I give information to other characters. I was only one day on set and one day for wardrobe and make-up design which is awesome.

DBtheMovie: Were you familiar with Dragonball before being cast?
A: I knew Dragon Ball Z from the Tv series and of course also knew the impact it has worldwide. Thats why despite of having a small role, I really was excited to do it. Is one of those experiences, full of fantasy, you dont have every day.

DBtheMovie: How was it like working with the director James Wong?
A: Working with James Wong was great. He is a very specific kind of person and he can really transmit the idea he has for every scene. He really cares about the details so I am sure the movie will be beyond extraordinary!

DBtheMovie: Where did you shoot your scenes?
A: I shot my scenes with a green screen at Estudios Churubusco.

DBtheMovie: Did you get to work with any of the cast?
A: I worked alone, I mean with no other member of the cast. I met Justin [Chatwin] while doing our make up and he is a very cool guy, He was exited to be working in Mexico. We had a nice talk.

DBtheMovie: And finally, do you think the fans of the show will be satisfied with this adaptation?
A: Be sure not only the fans, but everybody who sees the movie will be very, very pleased and satisfied with the result. I think the director, the cast, the production, everything is part of a huge success, and I am very proud to be part of it.

@josh1122: She said this “I think the director, the cast, the production, everything is part of a huge success, and I am very proud to be part of it.” Where in all of that did she say the cast will be great? She plainly stated that they’re apart of a huge success :|

-wow,in every interview the last paragraph is exactly the same!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-it must be something fox attached to their paychecks to read so people will see this!!!

  26. September 18th, 2008 at 00:22 | #26

@robert g!!: Or maybe everyone involved loves the film?

I guess you aren’t familiar with Babylon A.D.’s director openly saying the film sucks? That was a Fox film. If someone hated the movie, and no one involved so far has had anything negative to say about it, rest assured it would be in the press because people LOVE bad news, but hate positive news. You included.

I don’t know why you are here Robert G, quite frankly.

  29. September 18th, 2008 at 01:00 | #29

because even if my movie ended up sucking cuz of dumb producers, i would want the people to go watch the movie so i could make my money to pay my rent lol.

@Adam: “If someone hated the movie, and no one involved so far has had anything negative to say about it, rest assured it would be in the press because people LOVE bad news, but hate positive news. You included.”

The actors involved in this movie and the people behind has a huge interest in its success. Not only because of the money, but because they would be starring a successful franchise. Which means more $$ for more movies and a carreer boost.

Of course they wouldn’t ever say anything bad about it. Especially when they had never heard of Dragon Ball before this movie and wouldn’t be able to tell if it looks good or not.

Some people are just looking to cause trouble, adam. It’s funny, no body expects this movie to be anything but a decent enough adaptation with plenty of flaws, yet some would have you believe that it’s the nitpicky ones who are the minority… Every news site has condemned this movie. It’s an underdog, all the actors are underdogs, who have to prove they can do this. Nobody’s giving them a free pass here. Where’s this whole idea that some believe it’s all perfect already coming from? Ah, I shouldn’t dwell on it. not everybody’s sane.

Well just a month to go until we get a trailer! It’s on its waaaaaaaaaaay! YES.

@REPAIR MAN MAN: Yeah, he did say it sucked before it came out.

Anyway, enjoy the new-ness of this news, because I have a feeling we won’t be getting any more news for the next 8-10 days.

Oh yeah, I can just imagine Chatwin and de la Garza’s chit-chat.

Garza: Hey wanna split a toblerone?

Chatwin: Oh gosh…yeah. Yeah, I think I do. Whoo-Whoo! Next sthtop my thighsth!
