I GUESS SOME OF US HERE FORGOT. THIS MOVIE WAS NEVER JUST ABOUT GOKU OR ANYONE. IT’S ABOUT THE DRAGONBALLS AND MAKING THAT WISH. REMEMBER? THE WHOLE MANGA WAS ABOUT THE DRAGONBALLS AND RETRIEVING THEM TO MAKE THAT ONE WISH. SO, AS LONG AS JUSTIN CHATWIN (GOKU) IS SEARCHING FOR THOSE WISHING BALLS IN THE MOVIE, THEN THE MAKERS OF THE MOVIE STILL STUCK TO THE ORIGINAL PLOT OF THE STORY….GATHERING THE DRAGONBALLS AND MAKING THE WISH.

I find it funny how everyone continually whines over the fact that Krillin isn’t in this movie. But, if he was in the movie, he probably wouldn’t be killed by Piccolo (like in the anime). This would cause people to complain even MORE. Dealing with moronic fanboys will always lead to a lose-lose situation no matter how close to the original material you are.

Also, apparently all of these so-called “fans” have traveled back in time to the year 2008 to warn us about this movie being bad. They all seem know so much about it already.

@mad-man: I wasn’t trying t give Fox a lot of credit for this, I was just saying that many people ask for Krillin and i was giving out my thought on why he wasn’t on the movie. Although I’m looking forward to this movie to me it looks like Fox mixed it with Teen Gohan when he went to high school.

This movie looks so cheap. It doesn’t have any visual style to it. Just looks like a made for television movie. Dragonball deserves its own unique look not another passable cheap action movie look. The Matrix had its own style, and the dark knight, why can’t they give it some style?

Bulma in all-blue hair would be dumb and ridiculous in real life. Piccolo is green, but just a different type of green. To make it more realistic and enjoyable/acceptable to worldwide non-fans audiences.

I always was against a real live action Dragonball (or DBZ) movie because even though I love DB and DBZ, I know they would look bad in real life. What looks good in anime not necessarily looks good in real life (example: Goku´s hair would look stupid, bulma´s blue hair would look ridiculous, etc etc). So when I first heard about this movie in December of 2007 I was like “NOOOO!!! PLEASE NOO!! I hope its not true!!”… I started as a hater because I had my mind set into thinking that a Dragonball movie would suck. But then I started reading about the changes they were making, the dark and realistic tone, etc etc. So I started changing my mind and liked the changes. I dont want non-fans to think DB is a stupid series, so its good that Wong is adapting it using a realistic dark tone.

DB and DBZ is the best anime series of all times, very epic and excellent, but if we make a carbon copy of it into a real live action movie then that would be a trainwreck. I dont understand what makes people believe a carbon copy of the anime would look good in real live action?. Just take a look at the previous two movies made (the korean DB movie and “the magic begins”). Those movies were 100% faithful but they sucked ass big time. You cant make a carbon copy of the anime into a live action movie, it just doesnt work guys.

Please accept these changes and enjoy this movie and help it do good in the box office, because if this first movie does well, then we will have 2 more movies, and we know Vegeta will be in the second one. The story gets more deep and interesting. So lets all support it and stop whining for stupid reasons.

Just sit down and think about it. Isnt this dark tone Wong´s DB better than what that korean movie and magic begins movie were?

Looks like a good action flick for a kiddy American audience. But not enough homage to its Asian roots nor to its true fans of DragonBall & DBZ.
