No Trailer with Max Payne
Our friends at DBLegends talked with Fox about the status of the theatrical trailer and if the teaser we leaked would be shown with Max Payne. As it turns out, the trailer that was leaked was never meant to be shown to the public, and Fox was working on a different one that was scheduled to premiere with Max Payne. But, because the film’s special effects are still not completed, it has been delayed until later this year.
First off, we love your enthusiasm for the film. We are so sorry to ask that you remove the content. It is not meant to irritate or discourage you and your readers from following this film campaign. It’s just that the pieces of content that are being leaked were not created to be used this way. They were only meant to be shown to potential Licensing & Merchandising partners who need to make partnering decisions far in advance of release date, and the content has not been approved for online use. Elements like music clearances and even talent approvals have not been pursued because we had no intention of having this go online. Alot goes into a trailer or video being authorized for online use….
We had hoped to have a really kick-ass trailer done by MAX PAYNE’s in-theater date, but because alot of effects shots are still being worked on – we’ve decided to wait until there is more material to work with, so we can really “wow†you and the fans. This is not uncommon for a film that still has 6 months until it goes in theaters. It looks like the real trailer will be released a little later in the year.

This is fucking retared how in the fuck can the producers of this movie and make it no where near the cartoon series this shit is so dumb and will have dbz fans all over the world very pissed ive love dragon ball ever since i was 7 and to just see the bullshit that those dumb motherfuckers are going to put in the movies pisses me off and i hope that they burn in hell for duning this to a classic anime series.
i suspect the storyline for Max Payne is a lot more exciting when it’s happening in the form of a video game… except for those few exciting parts that i already saw in the preview, it was a snoozefest

Dragonball meets Buffy the vampire slayer?…how ridiculous does this look…someone pinch me and tell me that isnt the real footage and that its a sick joke..
because darn..i envisioned so much better..
and i dont want to be a debbie downer or a pessimistic patrick..but damn…cmon..if you can please get a half-way decent director to make this movie..maybe it would’ve looked “believable”…i mean that guys best movie was “the one”..red flag..he’s not that talented..now im not saying have spielberg do it..but at least have someone that has made good action movies do it..and the sad thing is..THE ACTORS werent the bad part..it was the way it was done..like i like chatwin as goku..but dont embarrass him with making him look like that…it coulve been alot alot better…but i will buy it to support the DB franchise…
Well, first off. I agree that the leaked trailer isn’t what they wanted to show to the public, so it obviously isn’t crazy well done, but it does deter from the hype over the movie.
Goku, in the series, is an alien too. I think that him looking kinda different from the rest of the actors is fine. I was originally put off by the character they chose, but after realizing this my mind changed, and I was happy they chose someone who stood out.
Picolo looks like shite, says I. He barely looked green in that trailer, and will probably keep his crappy tinted green self in the movie. And yes, he does look like he just walked out of a buffy movie.
Next, WHO IS GOING TO SEE MAX PAYNE ANYWAY??!?!?! If they really want it to make money, at least release the trailer with a good movie. I think releasing it with such a FAIL movie as max payne would only create a domino affect for this movie in destroying it’s chances of a good box office release.
I thank God that they won’t have it out with max payne.
And, finally, I’ll watch it anyway. As someone said earlier, if it’s horrible, it’ll be a good laughing experience later on in life. If , somehow, it’s good, then heck yeah! I just got to see a good movie (highly unlikely, but I still hope)
Anyway, stop whining. See it if you want to. Go away if you don’t. At least see it in a dollar theater (if you’re lucky enough to have one) or rent it at least once though.
in all truths, this movie will be the forbidden kingdom. with spfx from matrix. I really don’t see what the enthusim has come from. They leaked pictures of piccolo, then said he would be green in the movie. But it turns out he’s not green. honestly I don’t want jus a light green piccolo, I literally want him to be a black green.
and best idea ever, this should have been directed under george lucas who has a very keen understanding of different planets, aliens, and out of this world technology, in fact they might as well jus scrap this movie and have george lucas and lucas arts jus recreate the whole story.
And for the people that say that DB just can’t be made into a live action movie, well if that was true then the whole starwars, matrix, jurassic park, mortal kombat although it sucked, lord of the rings, movies would never exist, but we need some barack obama idealiests to make this movie awsome, starting with changing the main characters piccolo, with tyrese, and goku with that kid from that disney movie.
