They will have a 2 minute long trailer ready with all of the special effects and action perfected which will give us a better sight into this film and it will probably come out 4 months before the release date just like all trailers do. 8)

Every fan knows that Dragonball has their own unique style of fighting, and from the small trailer we could see that they neglected this. No wonder Toriyama is pissed with Fox.

I would be pissed too if I created something cool, which was later watered down into a PG adaptation. The movie had so much potential, but was later all wasted.

and in this case, you can’t polish shit with special effects, it will still look like crap.

They have such a great story to work with yet here they go possibly ruining the series and definately ruining the chance for a great live action version of the show. I think i’m going to write and complain or something cause after seeing that trailer all my hopes for this film died. The people behind this probably never even watched enough of the show to have a passion for it. this sucks, trailer sucks, costumes are awful. i mean cmon goku is jacked or atleast athletic looking. and wtf with the gay sports cars and cheesy fight scenes. even the dragonballs look gay.

It’s amazing that even with latest info from Fox themselves, stating that this leaked video WAS NOT the finished official trailer, that people are still judging the entire movie solely based on it. I’m completely baffled by this.

sajin0084.deviantart.com: I don’t think that Dragonball is all about the special effects until they start reaching the Z era, I believe it should be about the fighting technique, speed, multiple cloning and various dynamic arial acrobatic hand to hand fighting.

I’m also disappointed with the mini fighting arena, I wish they made it bigger. You can’t really special effects that can you? Nope.

As for The 300 I never liked it, but I must admit the special effects on it was cool, without the effects it would suck.

BUT it had all the bone crushing violence, blood, guts, and decapitation people wanted in a true warrior movie. That’s the core of the movie before they started to add effects to it.

I just have something to say about all the people who just talk shit about this movie…. We get that you dont like it…so why do you keep coming to this site and posting how much you hate this movie, isnt that just a waste of time? Dragonball is too ‘PG’ for my liking.

I hate it when the Americans censor stuff and water down the violence, look at the Japanese and American versions of Dragonball Z for instance.

Anime
Japanese Version = Hardcore, decapitation, blood guts and swearing
American Version = Average fighting with kiddy style humor.

How Freeza started torturing Krillin was edited out.
How trunks killed freeza with his sword was edited out, he didn’t just cut him in half before blowing him up, he chopped him into tiny chunks.

That’s just some stuff they censored..

@Groku: So now you’re complaining about the anime? I think you’re on the wrong website. I’ll give you reasons for the editing. Japan has a completely different standard on what’s allowed to be showed on regular television. Have you seen their game shows? They allow bloody cartoons and stuff because they don’t have random school shootings and stuff in their country. They don’t have to worry as much about filtering out of all the violence, cause their history of civil violence is nowhere near as high as ours. The U.S. is the exact opposite. The very first version that I ever saw of Dragonball Z was the edited American one, and I mean it was extremely edited. “I’m going to send you to the next dimension!” Remember that stuff? Well I still loved it. And even if this live action movie isn’t great, nothing’s going to change that.

Another thing, Dragonball Z didn’t become really popular in the U.S. until it ran on Toonami on the Cartoon Network. Did you really expect all that blood and swearing on the CN? I mean yeah, now they could probably show it, cause they have Adult Swim, etc. But they would’ve never showed those uncut versions at 4 in the afternoon.

C`mon with that thing of “Goku is white”. If it`s planned that Goku turns into SSJ, How they gonna show a blond blue-eyed ASIAN guy?

And if Goku isn`t asian, it`s more notorious that he`s adopted. For me that theme is closed.

First off, we love your enthusiasm for the film. We are so sorry to ask that you remove the content since we are not ready to release the trailer because you think it’s s***, so we need to add more special effects to make s*** look better. We don’t mean to irritate or discourage you and your readers from following this film campaign but we enjoy shifting deadlines to make the fans suffer more in order to make the film better. The pieces of content that are being leaked were not created to be used as a trailer… *pause* although this does look like a fully narrated trailer with clips that are relevant to the film it is still not ready because the fans still think it’s s*** so we think it’s s*** so we need to add more effects! The trailer was highly confidential material only to be shown to potential Licensing & Merchandising partners who need to make partnering decisions far far far in advance of the release date (even though we promised this October to make the fans suffer.) Elements like music clearances and even talent approvals have not been pursued because we had no intention of having this go online but here it is, enjoy the c*** trailer. We had hoped to have a REALLY KICK-ASS TRAILER done by MAX PAYNE’s in-theater date, but because a lot of effects shots are still being worked on and we’ve decided to wait until there is more material to work with, so we can really “wow and con” the fans into watching this s*** we made with a budget of 100 million USD. This is not uncommon for a film that still has 6 months until it goes in theaters. It looks like the real trailer will be released a little later in the year.. maybe November.. no no, we say December but it’ll probably be next year… since it may need more effects.

To me the movie has pretty chances for being good, from the leaked teaser i saw somethings i didnt really loved, but i liked the fighting scenes, and if they are adding even more effects (since that was not 100% done) i think they might give us something really awesome, im just glad they are doing a dragonball movie, that was always me dream to see it in live action, even if its not 100% the same, which lets be honest, if it was, it would look ridiculous for somethings.
