New Trailer Date
DBLegends just got word from Fox that their new target date for the theatrical trailer is December 12th, 2008. The Day The Earth Stood Still premieres on December 12th from 20th Century Fox, so we are assuming the trailer will be attached with it (although that isn’t confirmed).

Also note, I read in an old interview that Piccolo got into a bad argument and it caused him to be imprisoned. That could be true, he could probably argue with the monks on let’s say… THE SAIYANS? or maybe how the dragonballs should be used etc etc.

The Day The Earth Stood Still looks pretty good. Max Payne comes out today for Australia I’m gonna watch it to night.
@jordan: i respect your choice to disagree with the film and the way its being made.keep in mind this film isnt being made to cater to the die hard db fans,its a film designed to put a new spin on an old love that can be enjoyed by not just fans like me corey,nelson,sean,craig,adam and apparently you that grew up loving the original.its for a new crowd of people that that want to see a film thats just for all intent and purposes fun to see thats about the db universe in a new light.for you to direspect the mothers of people you dont know or have never even met is just wrong and childish when you could have made your point without going that far.maybe you should realize that its just a movie and cant spoil the love and respect that you have for the original db because that material will never have an equal.its just a movie for entertainment its not life or death.see it or dont but dont direspect the mothers of people who have wronged you in no way.

@nikalik1: none of the above I think would be the best answer. He’s some kind of other-worldly being, kind of like a genie. As for race…I don’t know, but in the original Japanese dub I think he has an African accent, but I don’t know if that’s what Toriyama intended or not.

@7BaLlZz: Goku would defiantly win!! Neo only knows how to fight inside the Matrix. The only bad guys Neo can fight in the real world is Megatron and the other machines. If Goku was in the Matrix he would probably be 10x stronger then Neo, because he was born with his strength. Don’t get me wrong Neo is super strong, but he would defiantly have a hard time with Goku

@jcvts: I’d rather they mess his story up a little bit than not even include him at all. Plus I mean, if you watch dragonball and DBZ enough you see that dying doesn’t even matter in that show. Everyone always manages to live happily ever after. All they would have to do is wish him back. But to not even making an attempt at including him is sort of poor judgment I think. The only thing I can think of is that they’re waiting to include him in the next movie. But if there isn’t a next movie then what the hell.

Yeah, man. I’m dying to see this new trailer. Fox has really dropped the ball by waiting all this time… Even star trek has begun promotion sooner than dragonball. That movie looks horrible but I’ll give them points for respecting their fanbase.

It’s one thing we need to remember is that this movie is not just for you nor just for me, but for millions of people, both fans and non-fans. But yeah, it would be cool if he showed up in a sequel
. Just don’t miss him that much here, and i’m willing to give the movie a chance. As for dying, most people who don’t watch the anime a lot tend to ctiticize it and not understanding it as well…
It’s still gonna be a long time I just hope the trailer is nothing like that leaked piece of crap trailer. I’m actually gaining some hope for this movie.

@jcvts: Yea true. I don’t know, I think they built a good enough fan base with what the show was. Why change a good thing? But yea I agree, I guess the have to expand their target market. And don’t get me wrong, in any case I’ll probably still enjoy the movie. It’s just one of those things that bother me, when they take something that’s popular, then they “hollywoodize” the hell out of it until it loses what made it popular.

@Zach: Ehehe…i know that, my friend, i’ve been through the same thing before. My first fear of Hollywood changes was with LOTR, a desperate 4-year wait for that…and the fact that a gore movie director like Peter Jackson was directing it, changes that were being announced, and even the first teaser images really made a lot of LOTR fans shiver (we saw guys wearing high legs and walking like puppets in there…and feared that was how they would make height differences).
It’s a normal reaction when we find something we like being changed…but i believe it will be a really entertaining film, don’t believe it will be like LOTR, but still something that will please us all, and will provide us a really nice time at the cinema…

things always look shitty when you look at the behind the scenes bits and pieces tho, just keep that in mind. You also have to understand that apperance wise they had to change things so it didn’t look cartoony, which nothing is worse than having a movie where real people look like cartoon characters, you might as well take a video camera around a cosplay convention then! ha ha
i carnt wait to see shenron a Oozaru goku and energy waves like kahmahameha and evil containment wave i wonder if yamcha will be able to do energy blast and a kahmehameha and piccolo looks so bad ass i carnt wait to see how lord piccolo preformes and how he flies and kills people off ruthelesly and his backflips and movements with his energy wave i will love to see him be scared at master mutaito and master roshi evil containment wave lord piccolo remind me of a more powerful more phisical more intelligent version of lord vodelmort.
