I cannot believe you guys. I am infuriated beyond all measure that you think this mug looks ANYTHING like Goku. This is an absolute travesty. It cannot work. No live action film can do justice to anything Dragonball related. It was doomed from the beginning because of this. They will not be fast enough. And they don’t look ANYTHING like the actual characters. Roshi with hair? They could have at least made it white. Just because this goon has a drumstick in his hand he looks like Goku? Fail. No way. Doomed. Piccolo not green? Fail. Doomed. How can you guys possibly be in line with this? HOW?!
omfg, DOUG..get a life! as if they’ll be able to find actors who look like the actual characters from the show. if you havent noticed, the actual characters are manga…manga god damn it. snap out of your little fantasy world there. where the fuck do you think are they gonna find actual human beings with those hairstyles that seem to defy the laws of physics in every sense, those proportionally inaccurate facial features, bowlingball shoulders, not to mention grotesquely huge and misshapen musculature. this is real life, doug. and I don’t give a fuck if you, or all you haters for that matter, are like straight up hardcore DB fans. let them make Goku the way they wanna make him, and if people are cool with that, it aint your place to say otherwise. besides Chatwin’s like 87678694 times better than like fucking Jean Claude Van Damme, who may be physically built for the part, but can’t act to save his own life. I understand there’s a fuckload of haters out there and honestly, you guys are simply wasting your time and energy stressing over this whole thing, when you know there’s absolutely NOTHING you can do about it. and I KNOW that you guys keep coming back to this site, looking for updates and shit…why bother? you guys keep saying the movie’s gonna be shit anyway, so I don’t know why you’d even care less about coming back here and reading the posts and updates. clearly, you’re just as interested as everybody else. and don’t give us any of that crap about simply wanting to find out how much more they’ve fucked up the whole movie..we’re not buying it. as for the picture…I think it kicks ass, actually. admit it, you can definitely see a likeness between him and Goku, and if he’s as enthusiastic about his role as they say he is, then I have no doubt he’ll pull it off.
oh, and btw, people…these guys’re actors, alright?! they’re paid to ACT like their character counterparts, not look like them. so please, for the love of god and all things holy, stop posting shit up about Chatwin not looking an inch like Goku. I mean, fuck! of course he doesn’t look like Goku! who the fuck does, really? no matter who 20th century fox pays a shitload of money to play the part, it’s just gonna be the same thing…you guys’ll never stop going on about how this guy doesn’t look like Goku, simply because you hardcore fans of DB are used to the original image of Goku that has pretty much been, and still is, obviously, an icon that’s been recognized all over the world for years and years. forget how Chatwin may not resemble that icon…you’re wasting your time complaining, coz nobody even really gives a shit…as you can already see from the later photos that’ve been posted, Chatwin seems to show a great deal of enthusiasm in playing the part, and with every new photo, more of Goku can be seen in him through his acting and enthusiasm..admit it. and a lot of people have learned to accept him and appreciate him more. so why not just go with the flow, here? it’s just a movie after all.
As long as Chatwin can capture the spirit of Goku I really don’t care what he looks like. The reason so many of us see Goku in this picture isn’t just because he’s munching on a turkey leg. That absent minded look on his face, the way everything about him seems to say, “I have no idea what’s going on but I got food so that’s okay” that’s why so many of us see Goku.

Go to an Anime convention once in a while, and look at the cosplayers.
Also, Chow Yun Fatt was bald and bearded in Pirates of the Carribean, so why can’t he be bald here too? At least let him reprise his PoTC look, and it would be allright.

Now, I don’t really follow everything there is to do with this movie (this is my first reply) and when I’ve got the time, I look here and there for some new stuff, like this picture of Goku eating.
Background gives it a good feeling of the world of Dragonball.
One thing I’m looking forward too is the fact that in the near future, Goku would turn in a Super Saiyan in one of the sequel probably. I read one guy saying something about his hair that it is natural and not a wig, well I wonder how the heck there gonna pull of a super saiyan

From what I’ve seen so far… this is going to be the worst thing to ever happen to the Dragonball series….. and for some reason you are all supporting it!! Well, when this blows up (which I know it will), I hope you all feel stupid for thinking that this movie had any promise…. like for christ sakes…. from the pictures I’ve seen posted on this website so far…. this movie is going to be brutal and any REAL Dragonball fan would see that.
Im a branded hater of the film…this looks just like Goku! (which is great) but it doesn’t make up for all the things this movie is gonna ruin about the series…i would support this film if they stuck to the anime script…for example kid Goku.. Piccolo been green.. the tail.. which brings so many problems I don’t think they should of attempted to make the film..if something is great why try and make it better

It’s not hating if you don’t agree with everyone else. And I don’t. That doesn’t remind me of Goku at all. And yes, I have db, dbz, dbgt, all bought series, and I watch them every frew months from beginning to end. I’m a huge db fan. But that doesn’t remind me of goku at all. It’s like, and american rip off to me.
I think so many people are just so obsessed with db, that they are being gullible, and accepting whatever is thrown at them. I see regular people in the street in daily life with hair larger than in this pic, so why is it so unreasonable, to give him at least 2 more inches of hair?…. Sigh…
But of course I’ll be flamed by all the kids/now adults that pray to db now, who comform to the crowd. At least realize it could have been inproved upon, or flame me, or try to discredit me in some way, and prove me right without looking at it from any other point of view. Oh, and the bike is a new design, about 1 year old, it can be bought almost anywhere in the world now, it’s old news. My brother bought one when they first came out, and I live in Canada, we get everything technological in t he world, AFTER everyone else, lol. Mind you they are pretty expensive. So I think the cantraptions, motor cycles or what ever they are are really neat.
