There is no way that i will watch this movie. I absolutely love the DbZ series. I too have been waiting for this movie and it is sad that they could not follow the oringal story. First of all Kami made the dragonballs. Kami came after Demon king Piccolo split into two intities. The second intity was Piccolo. If i am remembering right. So where do they get the story for this film??? Second they could have atleast made roshi bald and white gotee even for chow yun fat. I can understand not having the blue hair for bulma. But Goku and the saiyan race are known for their not growing and having solid black hair. Not sandy blonde. I know this was supposed to take place in the teen years of Goku’s lifespan but he loved to fight. and in the movie trailor he says he’s not ready for this. And it shows roshi training him. Not accurate at all. I could go on and on. but this is a waste. The only hope i have for the movie is that the graphics and fight seens do the original dbz episodes justice.

This is going to be horrid.

I’ve been waiting so long for this movie, and Fox has gone and crushed my dream into little tiny bite sized pieces.

It’s deviated so much from the original story that it’s not even Dragonball any more. I was okay with Goku being a high school student. I was okay with Bulma not having blue hair.

But Piccolo’s not even green, and that was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Part of me hopes this movie bombs.

Regarding Master Roshi, I am thoroughly confused as to why they did not opt to use the same look that Chow Yun Fatt did in Pirates of the Carribean 3.

This is ridiculous. If they do not have the budget, then might as well not even try. Michael Bay had the budget, and it worked spectacularly for a childish series that is Transformers. Since Dragon Ball is a classic, might as well make the best of it. However, low budget can also turn into something spectacular, but it’s a rare talent.

In ten years time when the movie gets a Reboot, only then will we look back at past mistakes and set things right.

Honestly though, Stephen Chow should have directed this movie. He’s a big fan of Dragon Ball and grew up with it. He can make good use of modest budgets. Look at his previous movies; they were ALL low budget movies. Yet they were spectacular.

Lets hope this does not turn into the trash that was The Forbidden Kingdom.
