Teruyuki Tsuchida Declined Movie Role
According to Anime News Network, Otaku comic Teruyuki Tsuchida was offered a role in the live-action movie but declined due to scheduling conflicts.
Japanese comedic talent Teruyuki Tsuchida revealed on the GokigenyÅ television variety show on Wednesday that he was offered a role on Twentieth Century Fox’s live-action adaptation of Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball manga, but he declined the role. He explained that his schedule was too busy to fit the project in. Tsuchida is a self-professed anime otaku, and he makes his fandom part of his comic routine. He made an appearance at the Mobile Suit Gundam 00 premiere event and joked that he just wanted to come to see the anime early. Tsuchida said on Wednesday that he was asked to play a person who gets attacked by the antagonist Piccolo because he held a Dragon Ball.
with only 4-5 months to go, and no new information ever, i gess the guy who runs the site finally decided to just throw up whatever news there is on this trainwreck.
and btw, they made akira toriyama sign a contract that gave him no creative control over this film whatsoever. i really doubt he’d even want anything to do with something that so badly destroys that which he spent 10 years creating.
@DRAGONFAIL: douchebag

FOX i am perfect for the role as the dude picking up the dragon ball and getting killed by piccolo because i already have an idea of how that scene should work out: piccolo comes forth and says “give me the cube boy.” oops i mean: “the dragonball kid,” then i go like “no i found it” then piccolo charges a beam that would utterly destroy me, and ive been reading comics all my life so i know whats coming so i punch my chest twice and and says “peace-out people”

I can’t believe they made utter garbage out of one of the best animes that ever existed. This movie is a complete disappointment. The whole concept of dragonball got changed. It looks like a bad mix b/w mortal combat and bulletproof monk. Come on now! No one who liked the anime is gonna enjoy this movie. I hope it flops so they don’t further disgrace a great work by creating a trilogy out of this nonsense.
@anthony:
If you try typing his name in Japanese we might get more results? Anyway just because he’s not big in america/english internet doesn’t mean he’s not big somewhere
