Emmy Rossum Interview
Oricon Style has a new interview with Emmy Rossum (Bulma). We’ve got your translation.
Have you seen the movie?
No, but I saw rushes (film with VFX and sound effects unfinished).What scene were you impressed with?
Kamehameha! I’m sure you can enjoy various action scenes like Goku vs. Piccolo.Is it an action movie?
It is an action adventure movie and there is a little comedy element, as with the original “Dragonball.” Although it has intense action, it is a movie everyone can enjoy.How do you interpret the character of Bulma?
For me, Bulma is a intellectual scientist and a strong women. I knew Dragonball a little because the animation aired in the mornings on the weekend in the U.S. However, when I got this role, I wanted to know her more so I studied by seeing the anime again and reading the comic.Did you know the popularity (of Dragonball)?
It may not be as popular as it is in Japan, but it’s popular in the U.S. too. I feel the responsibility to fans both in Japan and the U.S.Did you enjoy action scenes?
Of course. About 90% I performed for myself without a stunt double. I learned martial arts and I rode a motor bike, although I had never ridden one before, so I had to train hard for this role.Weren’t you injured?
I’m not injured but I made a lot of bruises. The hairstyle of Bulma is the ponytail at a high position so it became a very good cushion when I turned over or fell down (laugh).
That all sounds great! Good to hear she know how to be a good Bulma!
dope!
Good interview
Eveything sounds great….
but the martial arts….:?

@dlo: The article was in Japanese
sounds like she studied her part very well
nice interview
@kinglame:
What do you mean when you say “but the martial arts?”
It is nice to know that these actors took their roles seriously
@dlo:
no one gives a sh*t if you are the first or not, you want to know why, because it doesn’t f*cken matter.
now for my own commet, It is nice to know that these actors took their roles seriously
good interview.
“Although it has intense action, it is a movie EVERONE can enjoy.”
She knows Bulma’s a scientists!!!
8O
But someone is going to bash about her knowing martial arts (as usual)
at least she saw the anime to study the role.
@Lord Jaric: Its not that, but …(I might sound like one of those *COUGH*TRUE FANS* COUGH*) Seeing Bulma doing some martial arts? no. But I can be wrong…
ok
@ec: sorry….
My favorite scene from dragon ball

wowwwwwwww, good news

the kamehameha will be fantastic, and goku vs picolo, she said that the movie have a lot of scenes with action like in the anime
……………………..Dragonball rulezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz forever
and http://armando254.skyrock.com/
very nice
nice, though some long months ago she said she hadn´t read the manga or seen the anime so i dont know what to believe anymore,,, but there´s no doubt that chatwin and marsters took their roles as seriously as you could possibly take
so my hopes are still high
Emmy Rossum responds as if she’s never seen an episode of Dragonball in her life, or knows nothing of its history.
@david:
My thoughts exactly. What kind of crap is this? I really wish they had tried when making this film…
YAY she watched the anime and read the manga too!! NICE
these people better act like the characters. Im sure they will!!!!
.
.
IM….REPAIR MAN MAN MAN MAN MAN MAN MAN MAN MAN….
I really liked the interview, dont get me wrong.. but there was one part that i didnt like much. When they asked her is she knew the popularity of dragonball, but she answered: ” yeh in usa is not as popular as in japan, but i know is very popular”. She should have said that she knew that dragonball was very very popular in the whole World and she knew she had to play Bulma very well cause is lot of responsability, or something like that..
@henry: an actor can still portray a character right without the source material if they know characterization.
ex.
joker(TDK)
Magneto (Xmen)
etc
love the interview though she could have secretly put some plot
@robert g!!:
oh god go away loser, we remember you! ROBERT G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! stfu. Seriously, they can’t just drop the movie, they have no good reason too, so much money has been spent on this epic movie.
this movie is being shunned by the entire world, how can you hope to live up to anything you dumb bitch.
Good Interview
@ DRAGONFAIL
heh, heh…Shenron? more like SHUNRON! WUAHAHAHAHAHA!
@DRAGONFAIL: holy fuck, you need to take it easy on the roids there marky mark. you won’t know the movie sucks until you see it so why don’t you just relax and have a wine cooler or something
I’m glad she’s studied the role. I guess she really wants to portray the character accurately and isn’t just in it for the fame and money. Or not. who knows…
if all you haters thinks this is goin to fail why keep comin back to the site. I mean youall shouldnt be interested in the news if youall think its bad. Either you’re tryin to be annoy every one with your comments, or youall cant wait to see what new news adam has
Sounds faithful to anime to me. Good interview. I’m so pumped to see that Kamehameha wave already!
@Gaio:
actualy told the truth dragonball fan base in america is nothing compared to the size of it in japan.
4 MONTHS TO GO!!!!!
Nice interview good find adam, thanks big fella
