Believe me, no one is getting an award for this. It is NO COMPETITION. Ledger was amazing, and The Dark Knight felt like more of a real crime-drama than superhero movie. This movie will not win any awards, no one in this movie is getting an oscar, and the movie itself will probably be horribly rated and laughed at y critics who have to compare it to movies like the Dark Knight, or Benjamin Button. Sorry guys this movies nothing special AT ALL. Come on!!! They basically took all the magic out of this wonderful story and made what I think will be the laughing stock of 2009. But hey, people like Steven Chow won’t be ruining movies like Astroboy, Naruto, Akira, and even (never liked it) GI JOE. So maybe in the next year or so we will have an enjoyable movie that is AT LEAST SOMETHING like the original story. Sorry to rant but this just doesn’t cut it. At first I thaught this site was some sort of horrible, horrible joke. But then i realized something. These people making this goddamn have no respect for the original stuff. The stuff that had us up watching the next episode every saturday, or made us go out each month to a book store and buy the manga that we couldn’t get enough of. I have been a fan for life. Some people wait their entire childhood for a movie of something they love to come out. Hey I guess Akira didn’t like how GT almost killed of the entire fanbase, so he just went to the set, decided to bullshit the fans (guys it is obvious he doesn’t car, I mean he made millions!) and say this movie was “acceptable” and went home and probably watched Naruto because he knows how horrible this movie is. Whatever i guess I’m hating, although I don’t mean to. I’m not gonna curse this movie, but I just feel that they just SCREWED the fans for some kiddy movie using the name “dragonball” and, oh, they even tacked on the cheesy ” evolution” end title. Well I’m done. Say what you will but I i knew this movie was a joke from the minute they introduced those cheesy “original movie charcaters.
