Justin and Emmy Interview
Justin Chatwin (Goku) and Emmy Rossum (Bulma) were interviewed by Sankei Shinbun, a Japanese newspaper. We’re once again provided with a translation.
“There are a lot of Dragonball fans all over the world. I was always thinking what the fans were thinking, I felt responsibility,” said Chatwin, who was chosen as Goku, with a serious face.
“He totally devoted himself to practice the role, so when he stepped into a dangerous area, no one could approach him,” said Rossum. Chatwin responded with a joke, “I was thinking it was my mission to fight against the bad guys of Mexico City.”
“Dragonball” tends to be thought of “for kids,” but Chatwin says “the movie is the story of Goku coming to be a warrior. It will be enjoyable for both children and adults, even non-fans.” Rossum adds, “The movie is also devoted to the adult fans who grew up with Dragonball.”

This is interesting news, I’m impressed. He said “I was thinking it was my mission to fight against the bad guys of Mexico City” and “Dragonball†tends to be thought of “for kids, the movie is the story of Goku coming to be a warrior. I still remember in the movie,”War of the Worlds”, when he said in the movie “I’m going with the soliders and the alienship came out of no where”, he thought that he was dead but the end he was alive and I said that guy (Justin Chatwin) is a warrior. It’s a good thing that he’s Goku.
@Jesse J: This Vegeta guy is a sad fat guy that never leaves his house and waste his time posting hatred comments on youtube every HOUR and on his little useless boycotte site like it would change anything, i feel sad for him actually lol, its PURE and PURRREREEEEEE waste of time, the movie is COMING out no matter what, every time i see his nick on youtube his posting the same crying baby comments, just put as spam and ignore, this is the type of people that no matter how good is the news or the actual movie is, he wont accept, so fuck him and everyone like him.
btw about the trailer, i still think they’ll only make one trailer, because wong did this with ”the one”
he only showed one trailer and that’s it, i think we’ll get some more photo shots and some TV spots but i dont think we’ll get other trailers, the movie is coming out in a month in jap so…

I’m so glad that i’v been defending Chatwin sense i saw the first pic of the Dragonball movie (Goku walking to school with orange shirt appearing to get hit by a car) and even then i still knew he would be awsome..
I think its so funny that i actually hated Db.and Dbz..i thought it was soooo stupid, and one day…idk, i just started really liking it…and i’v liked since i was 10,
I’m predicting that the second trailer will be out with Watchmen to get the same demographic of people. They all ready got the demographic of kids by showing the first trailer (Domestic Trailer) in Paul Blart: Mall Cop which was a financial success. Now Fox will be focus on releasing the second trailer to the hardcore comic book fans.
the more interviews i read and the closer the flim gets to its release, the more excited i am!!! especially after reading Justins interview. i have ABSOULUTE confidence towards chatwin playing Goku knowing that he’s taking his role seriously i can be sure that he won’t let us down and will give it his all not to fail in anyway. the same goes for Emmy Rossum, James Marsters, Chow Yun-Fat, Randall Duk Kim, Joon Park and Jamie Chung. i have complete faith in them and iM JUS SOOOOOOO EXCITED ABOUT THE FLIM
Could someone link to a side by side comparison of the Anime photos between Goku and Gohan? A couple of busts? Remember the word [Bust,] in this context refers to a pic. or statue from the shoulders or neck up, No wise cracks please..
In my minds eye, I can’t pare down the basic facial differences, hair style for example, and see how Chatwin really looks more like one or the other. Perhaps by a third movie he would end up playing both characters

That part in “War of the Worlds” that he played, it tore at me. I thought how heartless, his family needed him more than the army did… but then again, how can you serve their interest best? Help them retreat or go on the offensive? It was like the mantle of manhood was calling him to fight, but his father wanted him to sacrifice that for the sake of family. I certainly sympathized with the father. Looking back now, it seems no accident that it happened almost entirely on a hill, the scene, a heartbreak ridge redux. I’m reaching, right?

@DBG Da Black Gohan: Someone came on as Justin Chatwin and always defended the movie even in the most early stages and here he clearly states that he listened to a lot of fans and took them into consideration when he prepared for this role.
Maybe that was him.
@b: The highschool bit isnt part of the plot. Its part of background information about the characters. So that you know, he is still in school. The highschool bit has nothing to do with plot. If the highschool bit had to do with the PLOT, then the majority of the movie would take place in the highschool, all the conflicts would result in the high school, etc etc. Did ya not see the trailer? There were like no highschool scenes in it. The highschool parts will probably be in the beginning of the movie and will probably last as long as the high school scenes in TRANSFORMERS. Infact, Transformers never had highschool scenes. It was about giant robots. Look how good that movie did? Jeez some of you people take the whole “goku in highschool” thing a bit too far. Its as if you all think the movie will only take place in his school. I mean seriously, it will last like ten minutes. So you have to sit through ten minutes of Goku in school… Oh no, its the end of the world.
