I doubt it but watchmen prmotion has been strong, here in Peru the became recognized recently and it attract people to buy the comic. And it`s good to see that characters look similar in the comic and the movie.

I dont know 15 scenes Iwant to see from watchmen I said it looks like it could be good but I dont know much about my friend loves it and just talks my ear off about it. I wasnt saying it was going to destroy dragonball if you think that then you dont know me at all I been defendin this movie from day one I said dragonball will destroy watchmen because of the great following dragonball has.

Well either way worldwide the rating is going to be different and from experience I know that Canada’s rating system is more lenient than the states. When their movies are rated pg-13 we have a 14A rating BUT if a film is rated pg13 ours is usually only rated PG. And I really doubt its going to be 14A because it glazes right over db’s target market; although revisiting it now when you’re 20 something you wonder how the hell our parents let us away with watching this shit when we were small ha ha.

I agree from what you said. People here keep saying its mostly gonna be rated PG-13 even though I think its about the BBFC rating 12+ equal to PG-13. Besides the rating here in United States is different from other rating system in the world.

@Fox: exactly. But I still think that pg 13 would be a bit high what with the amount of violence today’s kids are desensitised by. For example the saw series is only rated 14A here yet its an R rated movie elsewhere. So chances are it will only be PG.

The fact of the matter is.
Dragonball is a family film,meaning that Adults can enjoy it as well as kids.Fox are making it for everyone just like transformers was.That movie had it’s corny childish moments as well,but had serious action to make up for it.I mean Allspark and Dragonball are pretty childish terms don;t ya think>!
But badass robots bashing the living daylights out of each other, terrorising human civilisation blowing up buildings,posing as an imminent threat to the very extinction of the human species is where it gets real intense.

The same can be said about Dragonball.Childish parts:Goku and the gang have to find seven dragonballs in order to obtain a wish (childish and corny,)
Intesnity:Two super human alien huimaniods bashing the living daylights out of each other throwing dangerous ki blasts that could easily kill someone, all the while a evil demon king seeks to Destroy a planet with no regard whatsoever to the live sources that inhabit the Earth only wish is to seek revenge and kill all those that gets in the way.Piccolo is an anarchist in the sense that there is no reasoning only world domination and to kill Everyone!.He is bitter at the world because of his appearance of being ugly old and decrepit.This sound like a Texas chainsaw massacre story to me.

idk dragonball nver struck me as serious. sure there were times when it was, but overall it was a whimsical happy tale. the trailer doesnt really strike me as happy, and i doubt there will be too many jokes in this movie. i really want it to do good but its just not dragonball. i understand tho because no adaption is ever exactly like the source material

@kid green: Just look at every single photo, trailer, etc. released for the movie. How many smiles did you see from any of the actors when they are in character? I saw one very slight smirk in one picture from Emmy Rossum.

That’s because the posters are meant to show conflict, not happiness. They aren’t made solely to please hardcore nit pickers who want to see Goku smile 24/7.

It’s called marketing. Get used to it.

Nearly every joke in dragonball revolved around farts or sexual ignorance.
I dont know where everyone is getting all this smiling from. I actually dont remember him smiling much at all especialy in the begining. He always looked serous. He only smiled when he was winning a fight. Goku only started smiling on a regular basis after he was an adult.

@fox: Nobody should beat on anybody here about the MPAA. They’re a bunch of pure politico’s that have, in my opinion very, very little objectivity. Organizations of all kinds put pressure on them, so they probably go around individually looking like Rorschach to keep from being identified. There was even a movie made about the organization titled “This Film Has Not Been Rated” do a search to find a review of the movie, which I believe MPAA rated NC-17 for no other reason than, They were the subject material!

You only have to look around a little on line about the controversy of the rating given to “The Dark Knight” to get a true appreciation of what the rating system has become. Personally “DBE” could go either way on ratings depending how the studio wants to market the movie.

I’m sure with the majority here, desiring a harder edge movie. Playing the money game however, Fox does have the option to release a duel rated DVD, as done with recent controversial films like “Max Paine” and “Babylon AD.” It would certainly disappoint me but not surprise.

I don’t see why it would be hard to justify PG-13 from a marketing standpoint, parents should be with their kids when they watch violent movies anyway. At least that’s how I would pitch it. With its coverage in “Shonen Jump” kids will certainly bug their parents to see it.

Those going in to see “Watchman” thinking it will be this big action picture are in for a disappointment. It’s mostly a cerebral piece and all the real action in the movie has already been shown online and in trailers. Given that and it’s 150+ minute run time, they’re going to be a bunch of squirming people by the end of it. Large turnout, maybe, repeat viewings, not a chance , only the die hard of the die harders …

If I’m not wrong, they decide whats good for the children or not. Its gonna be a factor on how the audiences see the movie. You cannot assume a rating based on how this movie looks. Its has to be how the board decides of the appeal. So lets not argue about it.
