It sounds AMAZING – It’s just that I can’t understand it. We need an English translation :)

@cj thong: no..no man, if they work the song and the action just right they would be very good for each other. They may have to extend/compress some riffs, but like I said execution is everything. The climactic battle between Goku and Piccolo, Wouldn’t be right for this at all, for example. But there are opportunities for it, just in what we’ve seen, what about what we haven’t seen?
No matter where they lay in the new music, I hope they put some classic “DBZ” music into the climax. Not something like this Pantera stuff from The Legendary Super Saiyan. It just doesn’t stir the heart like the classic stuff did.

@tharlkidgoku: I know you’re probably familiar with the PSP ability to interact with the PS3, so I wouldn’t be surprised if theirs something in the works there.. It would be a good opportunity. I don’t know what and where the hack level is on fan reverse adapts are, since I’ve been waiting for a sweet HD-MB price point on the PS3. You know Linux works on those babies, so your not stuck with just native stuff.

Really good music in my oppinion. I especially love the guitar. It would be great for closing credits (Especially if FOX has plans to do a sequel. To get people wound up for DB sequel at the end of the movie you know). But I think for the rest of DBEvo, the music should be more along the lines of Metal/heavy rock or of the genre hard rock/rap combined variety. You know, to go with the action/fighting scenes. Try “Youtubeing” Slipknot -or- Mud Vayne with Dragonball Z. You’ll see what I mean.

The drums, electric guitars, beats, etc fits well. It really does have this Dragonball feel to it. I don’t know why you people are complaining.

@oldman:I would like that Worked up Brian anthiny song to be played at the party while goku is defending himslef against the bullies. then.

@cj thong: Ha, you know the big pay off is to see those guys looking out after Goku and Chi-Chi as they leave the party, ones got a big black shoe print on his face and the other has a tooth missing!

@kid green: Yes, we see Roshi hit the button on the remote we hear that funny noise that Kintoun makes as it zooms off. Roshi looks out the window and see’s them on the cloud off into the sunset, the music is playing in the background, he turns to the TV set and there’s the exercise video with the movie credits rolling. Master Roshi looks upset, but I think I would like them quickly go to a re-roll of the fight scenes and then eventually to a blank background with credits and music, because the crew deserves recognition that’s easy to read.

Sounds pretty good to me. Like others have said it might go with the credits. But where ever they put it, I’m sure it would capture that Dragonball feel.

I think it works for an intro.

anyone who is seriously complaining about this song hasnt seen or heard other great anime intros.

This will probably play with a great intro cut together and such like in good animes.

    better ending!!!!

what if at the very end of the final battle piccolo is left for dead by goku instead of killed, and at around the middle of the credits (with this song playing) we see piccolo spit out the egg containing his son and mutter the words “you know what to do my son” and die, then flash foward to a badly injured goku fighting piccolo junior and defeating him(silent tho, just a faint pulse) then goku and piccolo jr fall. continue with credits with pulse getting faster as the credits role ad finally, the pulse stops and we see the pod containing raditz fall (still silent with the pulse getting faster) cut to the credits for seconds and then we finally cut to the last seen with raditz confronting goku with the last words of the film…..”brother”. then cut to the famous dbz guitar rift to finish things off…….WHAT DO YOU THINK?!

    January 31st, 2009 at 23:11 | #27

@RJ: OOOOOooooo! Have you seen the Hellsing series? Its really cool. I mean, that is if you like anime cartoons about vampires. Its a really simple song with a piano, bass guitar and drums and vocals but its put together really well for the show Hellsing. Still, I think the song done by Ayumi Hamasaki would be more useful if it were played during the closing credits. Eh whatever. Im gonna smoke a bowl and clock out for the night. Peace!

P.S. But you do realize on some level what Im getting at. By me saying “it would be a great ending credits theme song,” right? Personally, I just can’t imagine seeing it in any other part of the movie. By the way, whats this, “Chi Chi Party,” thing I keep seeing in the previous comments?

  28. Nate
    January 31st, 2009 at 23:16 | #28

@the old man: That could work! I still think this song would be best utilized during the credits to give it the Asian “feel” that DB so rightfully desrves. Even if the lyrics isnt in english. (Although, it would probably be cooler if it were).

AH… Kid green, you lost me there. I don’t think even LZW squeezes that hard.. :? But it’s a thought never the less..

@Nate: About your suggestion. It’s beyond my talent to imagine.
For example, if Goku is walking up to Chi-Chi’s, Brian Anthony’s song is playing, but not so loud we can’t hear what the bullies are saying to Goku, before the fight begins. Then at just the right place in the fight you bring Brian’s music up and the right lyrics in the song can really work it into the action… I don’t know…
You have ideas to make the scene follow thru to where all the people out front are starring at the fight?? That’s what kills it for me. The song is a love ballad while Ayumi’s song, to me, is more of a passionate call about life and the different generations or the different social standings/groupings people align themselves with and the conflicts those different rules and standards start. Have you seen this interview?

    It’s a challenge for sure… Glad to be a retired… 8)

  33. January 31st, 2009 at 23:39 | #33

@kid green: Heh. That would make an awesome ending. But if they did that, That means we would see like, five other DBZ Live action movies. All the way up to the Buu series. Which would still be fucking awesome!!! Could you Imagine…? Four other movies coming out for each series of DBZ. We would see the Saiyins movie, Freiza, Cell, and Buu. It would be like the Harry Potter series of movies, or the Lord of the Rings, but with extremily brutal DBZ fight scenes! It could totally be done!!!!!! They would be Box office master peices. SERIOUSLY!! I dont think FOX realizes just how popular Dragonball Z is. :D :D :D :D :D :D

Well i don´t like that song, but it could be worse (at least it´s not teen titans go! xBBB)

In a real DRAGON BALL film I would like Damon Albarn were contacted.

  36. January 31st, 2009 at 23:56 | #36

@RJ: Yeah well… Your right, they don’t SPARKLE. To each his own I guess. I know there is a huge difference between anime movies and tv shows between live action movies and live tv shows, but if you like vampires, you’ll like the show Hellsing. (Look up the 1st fight between the Irish priest and Alucard, it might be on youtube), and pay close attention to what the priest says. I find it truly dynamic along with the rest of the show. Like most anime fight scense, it really puts you on the edge of your seat. Its better than watching Akira. And while Im on the topic, whats with the lil’ kid scene with the giant stuffed animals and the ocean of milk!? I get the fact that it was all in Tetsuoh’s dream but the kids were the ones doing that to him right? Why the fuck would they do that!?!

@DPA: So this isn’t a “real” Dragonball film just because you don’t like it?

No, no, my friend. This is THE Dragonball film. And seeing how Akira Toriyama is an executive producer, it doesn’t get much realer than that.

    February 1st, 2009 at 00:04 | #39

oops, I think I got mixed up sorry Nate.. That last message was for CJ, but I think the Rule single will stay Japanese. From what I’ve read that’s the way James Wong wanted it because, “Dragon Ball” came from Japan. Ayumi was OK making the lyrics English but, well, that’s how it goes. He probably figured each artist was more famous in their respective countries. So Anthony’s music will be in English. I would imagine they both will play during the credits, no matter if they are placed within the movie.

this song is horrible…i am upset that i listened 2 all 4 minutes and 9 seconds of it…dragonball doesnt need some pop japanese style music…imagine if transformers would have had its main song be something like this crap…they did the right thing and put some guys who could make good music like linkin park up 2 bat…and they nailed it…this stuff isnt even worth listening 2…cant wait 4 the movie tho 8)

@the old man: Nope, Havent seen the interview you posted, nor do I have a clue who Brian Anthony is, I’m just sayin that the song in this post, by Ayumi would be better utilized if it were played during the credits at the end of the movie. (I just looked up Brian Anthony on youtube), he sounds like a tool/pop culture/junky loser/NSYNC wannabe. BLEH! Not my cup ‘o tea. Sure it “might” make a great High school party song (depending on who’s party you are at), but as a song to play during the bully fight scene, no fucking way. I think we are on the same level though. We know what music is good or bad for certain movie scense. I just dont know where you came up with Brian Anthony?

@shane: You may think this song’s crap, but it’s a Japanese manga and that means Japanese song

A Linkin Park theme song for DB:E it just wont fit the movie.

What if they played that brian anthony song while Goku and chi chi are dancing. (in spite of his jealousy)Carey fuller taps Goku on the shoudler and says “You and me now!” That’s when the fight ensues.Carey Fuller can’t beat him one on one and so the whole gang start to try and beat him up resulting in them hitting each other.lol all the while that song is still playing.I think it would be comedic with a that song playing in the background.:D

  48. Nate
    February 1st, 2009 at 00:49 | #48

@the old man: S’all good dude. Yeah, I think the Japanese deserve that much, if not more. To have an original japanese spoken song in the Dragonball movie. At least nearly half the cast is of Asian descent… I think. Id hate to see the japanese not get some kind of credit or contrubution.
You know what…? This is gay, all this politacally correct nonsense talk and backing for the Japanese. I totally just remembered Pearl Harbor. Hiro Nakumora on “Heroes” is really cool though. Im gonna smoke a bowl and peace out. Its good to know that there are some other hard core DBZ fans out there though. Just one more question though “the old man says”…? Where did you get Brian Anthony…? Seems like a hard core tool if you ask me. Like one of those American Idol wannabes that i cant stand. 8O

@shane: YEAH SHANE!! Like I said, a band like Slipknot or Mud Vayne should make a song for this movie. Not this piss-ant Japanese pop music. Dragonball and Dragonball Z are all about adventure and violence! The music should pull us to the edges of our seats, not put us to sleep!
