PSP Game Demo
The New York Comic Con is demoing Dragonball: Evolution for the Sony PSP this weekend. Take a look courtesy of GameSpot.

In Dragon Ball: Evolution for the PSP system, ultimate powers collide as players match up against their favorite characters from the film release and battle for control of the seven sacred Dragon Balls that have the power to grant any wish. Dragon Ball: Evolution employs an easy-to-learn yet difficult to master fighting system which provides everyone the power to pull off stylish and dynamic attacks. Ki (energy) management will be essential to gain the upper hand and unleash a devastating attack on their unsuspecting opponents.

That’s interesting about the 11th character…..well ROBERT G is certain that krillin is in the movie so maybe……u think its him, its starting to look that way or it could be piccolo jr. Its gonna be a good surprise if its krillin or who ever else

why would you waste money on this game when you can get shin budokai (which is the same thing only faster and more interactive) cheaper.

@AlightEnds: It’s crazy how every one looks at the empty part of the glass. So few of the haters ever say, well maybe his tail is wrapped around his waist and covered by the GI and will be revealed at a certain time. Remember Piccolo pulls a sword at some point. Does he use it just to fight against Goku with the NyoibÅ (power pole) or is he going to do some other cutting?? I guess it’s OK for “The Incredible Hulk” to grow to be 9′ tall but his pants magically expand and the Japanese hero has to go completely naked?? If he’s only 10′ tall it’s only a partial transformation anyway, so what’s the big deal, you know? it would be cool if Piccolo stops him short of a full transformation, the tail falls right in front of Bulma. She picks it up wondering what is it, and it starts wiggling… she throws it down goes, EWE, then shoots it, HA…

You hit it on the head Jesse. That’s my belief, the very reason the haters want to distance themselves from this and wish it would go away. It’s something they had to themselves and now it’s not special. By saying OH they changed it, well it doesn’t measure up to my special expectations now. So they set themselves apart all over again.
@ Miguel: About Roshi’s looks; well they’re just over compensating for the “Pirates Of the Caribbean” junk. They’re trying to be sensitive, don’t you think?? Still, Fox seems to be this way, secretive, since we only have 4 or 5 minutes of trailer to judge the entire movie on, you just never know what will happen. Be hopeful not pessimistic.

@ the equalizer: it sounds unrehearsed, which sounds very amateurish. Plus some of his questions sound awkward. He’s stumbling for his words. I’m wondering about him and that takes my mind off the game. Not what a reporter is suppose to do. He’s being incompetent.
My impression is he doesn’t even play games. So It’s not fun for him, its just a job…
The game universe and especially “DBE” fans don’t care do be his stepping stones.
That’s why he’s being ragged on…

I love you guys. You’re so “basement-dweller”. I mean…it’s one thing to be into something, but another entirely to like, want people demoted because they’re not as in love with it as you are.
Anyway, here’s to hoping the movie rocks as much as the recent trailers suggest. This movie went from being a disappointment to having some serious potential over the last few months. The game however, looks like a generic pile of crap. Oh well.

Even if he’s not enormous when he transforms or anything, it still looks pretty accurate. I rather prefer that he stay the same size and now tear apart his clothes, actually. I’d rather not see an unconscious, naked Justin Chatwin lying on the floor like in the anime :\
He was trying to put the game down, going like “wow, this is just like the cartoon”. He thought he was being cool, but he showed what an unprofessional shitbrain he is.
The game looks pretty good. The interviewer was pissed when he saw the characters though. haha Oh well, I’ll check it out.

I think it’s all in how you interpret it.
Like if you get your head out of your ass, you might instead consider that he just didn’t really know what to make of it. Why the holy-hell would anyone actively insult their viewership by badmouthing a game that’s based on a well-loved anime series? They wouldn’t. I mean shit dawg, you see the fallout here, and you tools just THINK he was badmouthing it. Imagine how much shit he’d be in if he actually had.

This movie is going to make tons of money the first weekend regardless if it sucks or not. Everyone will write a review stating the same thing. “Oh it was somewhat different than the anime series.” Well duh not everything can be an exact translation(budgeting issues). Then the people who didn’t see the movie the opening weekend will see it just because of the reviews, so it will be the highest grossing movie for April 09′ until May.

I already like Grandpa Gohan. If I play this game, he’ll be my favorite character to handle.
I have heard that piccolo is going to be tal (as in the anime dragon ball) at the end of the film and is going to battle the oozaru

The meaning of “Oozaru (大猿) “is “Big Monkey”
Oo (大) = big / tall
Zaru (猿) = monkey / ape

@Ox King: Trying to ascribe some specific meaning that’s in your head, about the ultimate meaning of some Japanese characters, is meaningless. Big and Tall are general descriptions. A common westerner is big and tall to the average Japanese native.

well I know many people wants the Oozaru to be big, but since its pg-13 (more then likely) They wont show nudity, meaning for when Oozaru returns back to goku.
I know that all of the Chatwin fangirls wouldn’t mind seeing him naked, but noone would care what all two of them would think
The game really reminds me alot of DBZ Shin Budokai 1 and 2.
Even that Kamehameha is with the same blue background like the other PSP games!

What? He moves just like Goku in Budokai 3(even the dragon fist combo is there..),they just made an alternate skins of the characters and threw out the planet destructions and other effects…
is it just me or does that gi make Goku’s body look fat?
WTF? They just took Goku’s sprite from Budokai 3 and pasted Chatwin’s image over it! And Mai’s moves kinda reminded me of Frieza (though not all the time).
