The reason they didn’t make Piccolo green while shooting was because the green would blend in with the greenscreen and it would mess up the shot (when they add the background, parts of his face would be invisible).

They added the green in post production.

Why are people getting so confused on the who Piccolo pictures.

Those photos are just photo shoot stills, they haven’t even colored his skin green yet with computer graphics.

Those are awesome, awesome pics of Piccolo. I just wish they’d included his antennae. Would someone be kind enough to Photoshop in some antennae for him?

This is just a reminder for all you wondering why Piccolo looks different colors in some shots than others.

Evil King Piccolo was old, decrepit, and dying when he was released. He then got all the dragonballs and wished for eternal youth, thus he then looked SOMEWHAT like Piccolo junior, except that he had a more sinister and lanky appearance.

So if you see him look different, think of it as Post and Pre -wish form.

@ randy , wat r u onn about, greenscreen, they can also use blue, so that would not have been a problem and they did use a bluescreen background ure jus guessin, and they made him less green because he was locked away for 2 thousand years and lost some of his colour his colour will come back 2 him throughout the movies

I realize that those supposed to be his antennae, but… they don’t look like antennae. The plural of antennae is actually antennae, btw. I’m not a hater. I’m going to like this movie. I just wish they’d given him his antennae. It’s a minor complaint, I know, I know.

Bottom Photo – They didn’t really put any effort into covering Marsters’ human-colored arms. I know the Necromonger outfit was to skip having to put makeup on his arms and chest, but really…

I think his anntanae’s are folded into his head. Then it “comes” out when he needs to use them. It makes sense I guess, it will just get in the way when fighting, just like having long hair…

may be me being dumb but has it actualy been confirmed that piccolo does make his wish with the dragonballs yet? didnt the movie book say goku kills piccolo before he makes the wish then goku wishes roshi back to life?

@chris: WTH? There was never a bunch of refs (fat and bald and another with black hair) wearing that. There was one announcer/ref with blonde hair, big sunglasses, and a lot of personality. These guys are just like refs you’d see in a boxing match.

I think it is pretty obvious by now that this is the color he was orginally going to be for the movie, but due to the massive outcry by fans it has been changed. Anyone that doesnt think that is fooling themselves.

The same thing happend with “Lord of the Ring: The Two Towers” when the filmakers were going to have Arwen show up at Helm’s Deep and fight, but the fans protested and it was changed. They realized that you don’t have to put a sword in her hand to make her strong, just like here where we can’t accept him as piccolo unless he is that classic green man we all know and love.

The tournament looks pretty bad. They should’ve just kept Tenkaichi Budokai like in the manga.
