guys, remember that this is dragonball. 89 minutes makes sense regarding the series. dragonball wasnt as huge as dbz. hopefully, the sequel willl include the saiyan saga and the frieza saga. that would be like a 3hr movie. if this one sells a lot. who knows. all i know is that ive been waiting for this since middle school. remember toonami in the afternoon? miss those days. but what id like to find out is if goku drops out of high school and starts a family in the end. gohan has to be in the sequel, just like piccolo and the z fighters, krillin, tienshinhan, chiaotzu and yamcha. piccolo was never really in the group. loner. lmao

Well I was upset when i read this at first
had some time to cool down.
The length could still work. there will definitely be enough fighting. I mean look how much they put into the animated movies which many don’t even reach the hour mark.
After all, Wolverine looks bad ass too, and its only 1.5 hrs as well. I seem to remember a lot of great movies that were around this length. Just seems in recent years the trend seems to have been making movies closer to 2 if not more. I think its the increased popularity of hour long shows that caused an increase in movie times. But if you think about it…with commercials an hour show runs ~45min. Think about how much can happen in two episodes of Lost. If done right his movie can/will be great. I have faith.
Now for the next, even more so if it is to cover (even a reinterpretation) of the Saiyen/Namek saga’s
It should be a good two hours. Maybe longer if Budget, Writing, and TPTB permits. Don’t want them to skimp on the FX so that they could make the movie longer. I’d rather have a shorter, amazing looking, and well written movie.

FUCK 89 min

Woah, seriously? Not 90 minutes, 89? That…….sucks. I don’t see how they can fit much of a story into the movie. Unless they do something totally cliche like a lame, uninteresting flash back in the beginning of the movie, or have some 2 minute narrative explaining everything, or just sprinkle it lightly through out the film and confuse the viewer on the overall plot, or make the ending of the movie make all of the previous events totally pointless and make the viewer wonder what they just watched(Huh? – Akira Toriyama).

Then the rest is filled with pointless action scenes and a terrible ending in which neither piccolo or Goku die, they leave respected foes, evil plot foiled, Roshi is brought back to life, everyone lives……..people leave theater disapointed. Onto the Sequal:P

But this movie would’nt do that would it? This is DRAGONBALL afterall? Right, it’s going to be so awesome……..even though this movie was rushed……..been on Foxs back burner for 5 years……..never did ANYTHING with the liscense? Oh wait, sorry….. after all this time it turns into an alternate timeline of Dragonball….sorry……my bad. Forgot, im just a Hater afterall. Not like I pay attention to how movies are made or anything…..and when someone(Wong) does a terrible adaptation, and then the creator has to say “Its a different timeline” just to calm fans because this movie is so obviously screwed up.

I mean, look at the high hopes people had for Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li? Look at it, is’nt it awesome? I love Photoshop and Adobe Premier special effects for a multi-million dollar film

dnt forgrt thy gna make a sequel, the sequel may not be dbz but db, which nearer the end (or 1/2 way) gohan is born and they fight of raditz in the sequel, leavin room for another sequel called DBZ.. they got plenty of time and room to tell a whole story..

oh man. i want the trilogy to be lord of the rings long and longer. can’t wait to see how far they go into the dbz storyline. i wanna c vegeta, fireza, trunks, and cell!!!!!!!!!!!

I can’t wait for Dragonball Evolution, but the runtime dosen’t seem real to me. If it was at least 2 hours, it would be a masterpiece.

I never knew I could hate a person before actually meeting that person before… the crew making the movie seem to have no clue what they are doing compleatly changing the charecters personality and looks.

This is not DB this is nothing special, trash that no one should have to watch, never ever been so dissapointed in a movie just by seeing a trailer… this sucks.

And as a DB fan I can´t see why everyone whines about the lenght of it but no one whines about the content of the movie, I watched the trailer and I could have sworn I saw Goku say “I can´t do this”… yeah… right… =.= I bet we will also see Piccolo as a super sayan and Bulma as a superstrong fighter since they don´t seem to care at all about the story, I doubt they have even seen 1 episode of DB, they just took a popular anime and tried to make a shiny flashy movie with it.

If they wanted to do a dragonball movie, they should have started on the sayan saga and did a little 10 minute intro in the begining about dragonball… i want to see vegeta and further more i wanna see super sayan in live action… but im a special effects whore : )

and further more i agree with the last guy… I’m sure they could have taken any real dragonball fan and made them into a adviser… I will however not be paying for this movie, i’ll watch it for free on the internet, spending 89 minutes of my life embarrassed at what they did to an excellent show which by the way is way to expensive for garbage.

I just got finished reading the Dragonball Evolution book. It was really awsome. At first before reading the book, I thought this movie was kinda out of wak. But after reading about it, It is so cool. Go to the book store and get the book, it will change what you think in a whole different situation. I know this movie will be great. it´s to diferent the movie i saw it yesterday on internet and since when kame hame revives people, as far as i know piccolo never controls ozaru he is a wild beast and shenron he use to speak now don´t say a word. the movie is watchable but is a deception

89 minutes, 100 minutes; in any case, the movie is way too short to even come close to what the Dragonball saga is about. If they wanted to cover a lot more of the story, they should at least make a “Lord of the Rings” attempt and go for 3 hours at the very least. Plus, from what I hear, Goku in high school? Give me a break, he grew up in the woods and wasn’t exposed to anything outside Mount Pouzu until Bulma arrived.

Also, they could’ve done better with the character selection; I’ve seen every episode of the Dragonball and Dragonball Z sagas and most of the cast for the movie don’t even come close to the characters in the anime. If they really want to make Dragonball fans happy, they should have stuck with the classic and made it an animated movie, the way Dragonball is meant to be enjoyed; I may actually see is when it comes out in the states, but may wind up being sorely disappointed with the outcome.

this movie will be awsome but they shouldnt make a buu movie that would be kinda stupid i mean a fat pink blob going around killing people with a baby thing they should just stick with the ending of the cell saga that would be the perfect ending.

This is going to be the best movie ever.I am going to tell all of my friends about this movie.but i wonder how they get all their powers,and why they do not wear the same clothes that the cartoon dragonballz has.
