It obvious that dragonball evolution tried to target a very large range of the population. This film was not made for adults, as much we do love it, it was made for the kids, so their parents could take them to see it.

Im surprised that fox let this old school marketing mentality happen, as every1 knows that its the story that makes a great box office hit nowadays, not the rating/special effects/huge marketing!

However, this could work for them at the same time, maybe they want to ease this movie into the market, set it up for a more hardcore/darker sequel jsut like the reboot of batman.

What we can definately be sure about is that too many people had influenced/controlled this movie, which most likely ended up with a finshed product that wasnt quite so finished. they should have just given total control to chow or something, but who knows, lets not hate until we see it

I watched the moovie, i think it is better than i expected. HC fans will hate it, bate it is quite good, so go and watch it

I saw the whole movie. This movie is short but the kamehameha was the bomb. Piccollo has a signature move which is the Spirit Bomb which I was surprised. Every actor did a great job on their character. The only thing that got me disappointed was Oozaru was not 30 feet tall he was like 8 or 7 feet tall ape, so get use to it and Chow-Yun-Fat did a excellent job on Master Roshi. Master Roshi was perveted. I wish this was rated PG-13 because Chi-Chi said “Damn” and Master Roshi was touching Bulma’s ass like in 2 scenes in the movie. Goku almost said “Oh Shit”.

When they fell in Yamcha’s trap, Master Roshi saved Bulma before she fell, Master Roshi with his glasses was holding her ass and then Master Roshi dropped her and he said “Sorry”. This movie was great. So people decide if you want to see it or not because some people in this website are called “Haters”. I found with a part of the movie missing but can’t tell you because Fox might blocked the video like they did to Youtube two weeks ago.

i jus watch the movie and i thought it was horrible from the acting to the story to the special effects first i have no problem with a white goku only becuse the anime never told his race and if they did he so wut he’s not even human jus because the anime was made in japan doesnt mean all the caracters are asain look at ubb hes black mr. popo is indian i think. the story line was awful how could an ozouroo or how ever you spell it be on earth 2000 years ago when goku was the first sayin to go to earth there are a lot of dragon ball caracters missing whers krillin, ox king ,puar, that huge turtle,tein,chouzu,yajarobi,kami that kat man, mr.popo. it would have been nice to see a few more signature moves like the wolf fang fist,or the special beam cannon or have : piccolo regenerate one of his limbs . it would have been nice if goku would have had a tail and he transformed to a bigger monkey when theres an full moon not when theres an eclipse i can go all day i kno its an adaptation but u can have some things other than the name of the caracters and the kamehameha from the story i give it a 2/10 stars

Yamcha isn´t a fighter and kills a girl from behind with a gun… oozaru the destroyer can´t kill yamcha! piccolo is so powerfull but with gokus first real kamehameha he goes down.. and he doesn´t even seem like his hurt at all…
goku fights with two girls.. he kills the fulums cold blooded! he cheats in his training.. whatever! you guys are right.. this is an excellent, eeeeexcellent db movie! james wong is a great director and as you can see.. he saw all the db episodes and he knows all about the characters and stories… yeah right! ..

I LOVE this movie!

Well, I watched the movie and I’m really sad. First of all I’m sure you guys know this isn’t really DB, they changed so many things that it’s really just an adaptation that was turned into this cookie cutter what you could expect hero adventure movie. First of all, I do video editing and I could of done a better job, the editing was just plain horrible. I couldn’t believe the way the editing was done, it made the scenes feel choppy, nothing really flowed well together. I did laugh at parts, but didn’t like the way most of the charictors were portrayed. I was wishing for so much more of the end fight. It seemed so damn short and didn’t give me enough to satisfy me. I didn’t like the way it ended either, and I cringed at a few scenes just because the dialog was bad and the acting was so so. I wanted the Goku we all know and love, not some weak kid who uses Chi Chi as a motivator to get stronger, I mean, Goku never cared about women, didn’t even know who they were, but anyways. I had fun watching it, just was dissapointed by those things. Hopefully DBZ is better or they just remake this film and make it better like the did The Hulk.

Pleioblastus, DUDE! You are so right. That basically summed it up. For any DB fan this will disappoint. The music made it seem like this epic movie, but didn’t feel that epic. It was like soulless. I love DBZ so of course I tried my hardest to like it, it’s just the editing and the weird decisions they made for the movie killed it for me. Hated yamcha, I really don’t know what the fuss is about him, he sounded like he’s some surfer dude, a lot of the stuff didn’t really make sense why it happened the way it did. There were some cool things to the movie I guess, I just can’t get over the things that killed it for me.. sorry guys, you can like it just for having the name DB, but really, as far as movies go, they didn’t put it together that well. Needs new director, should be pg-13 at least with good hardcore fight sense and maybe get real martial artists this time around so it doesn’t look like cheese wire dancing being swung around.

im a hardcore fan and i was a hatter at the beggining especially after the leaked expo trailer but sometime after that i became a supporter, i’ve seen the leaked bootleg version and thought it was good and the full version will be better in HD, and i blanked out the anime which is what you have to do or you’ll despise this movie. Don’t forget, this is all for dbz so try to suck it up coz dbz movie has potential to go f**king large:D

I’m so glad so many people are watching this movie Online, the pirated version. Everyone who has seen this flick says it sucks.
The exact same criticisms of true fans became true:
1) No DB like atmosphere, Goku is a human teenager with high school mentality and insecurities.
2) The movie itself (the original james wong aspect) sucked, it was an ok generic film with B rated acting.
3) There was a serious lack of location, character association, signatures moves and just that essence was missing from DB.
4) the Kamehameha sucked. it was short, sci-fi channel quality, not used like in the series.
5) the Dragon was too generic, and bared no resemblance to the real one [no connection to the dragonballs, no red eyes, not a sentient being (does not speak, he's a monster, but grants wishes)]
6) The story itself is a corny love teen story, and it’s a big focus of the movie.

Trust me people. Watch a 15 minute clip online. Save yourself some money. OR watch the whole thing online. You’ll be glad you didn’t pay.

Clearly the best move is to release it worldwide with a massive ad campaign.

the Dragonball Evolution movie Is Going To Blast It’s Way Into Theaters ”April, 8th, 2009”.

I watched it earlier today and boy was it bad. Honestly the only parts I really enjoyed were a few jokes here and there. The acting was mediocre and the dialogue was bad and horrendous at a few parts. At the beginning of the movie the film has a decent pace but near the end it just feels like everything is rushed. The fight between Goku was way too short. It lasted maybe total 2 and a half minutes including the Kamehameha scene. Another thing that caught my attention was when they beat this “Huge threat to the world who will bring impending doom” aka Piccolo they just leave him there like if he lives he wouldn’t try anything again right? I especially loved the part where they’re like “BTW you’re an alien sent to earth to destroy it thought you should know” and then its never mentioned again. I’d give this movie a 1.5 out of 5 its a bad B movie at best.

I’m from Asia and I’ve already watched the movie. Great! I liked it! But for some reason there is no Vegeta in the movie and characters didn’t transform into Sjuper Saiyans….
