Wow, Dragon Ball Evolution… Where to start… i am a life long fan of dragon ball o started watching anime when i was in the 5th grade and now i’m a junior in college Well i had very low expectations about dragon ball movie, nevertheless I was still looking forward to it and no matter how bad it would be I would still appreciate people trying to bring “legend to life”. i actually created account in IMDB just to write my opinion… that just shows that the movie was somewhat special…

Well I think all the bad reviews represent the whole movie pretty well. There is no flow in the movie whatsoever.. its just jumping around character personalities are very undeveloped. GOKU ROCHI BULMA CHI CHI they’re alright. But everybody else is just awful. Masters just doesn’t look feel or even like piccolo, its his acting he is just a deuce from Buffy. JOON PARK – man loose your accent! that is what ruins you man. you sound like the biggest frat idiot, LEARN a fake Korean accent if you can.. please man please!!! Also what is “awesome” about the movie is that some characters are so unnecessary that you can’t even imagine why they are there. All high school.. literally bullshit….. damn… Teen problems … THEY DO MATTER! oh come on!!!!!!!! that’s just so bad so bad. Mai is such undeveloped character that if she haven’t been on the movie you wouldn’t have even though of her. But every concept that we love dragonball for is raped. tournament is raped. goku’s gi raped. capsule corp also raped….. eveything is showed for couple of seconds with no particular reason.

Also relationships in the movie develop in light speed. ahh who cares about good values. literally both couples look kinda sluty… you know in the anime it takes time and stuff, but here its like a frat party.. 5 min and lets go to my room bit**.

Action scenes and effects were bad. no other word. Shenlong is short! Ozzaru is short! WTF did they shrink over time or smth like you know cotton does after washing? KAMEHAMEHA tried to be like the real one that goku killed piccolo in the anime, but literally everything is wrong with it.. you have to see it to believe… what’s up with the random slow mo scenes? it’s just not necesarry, why would waste money on it???? its not kungfu dragonball alright it should be superior..

Well i give 1 star just because people tried to make a live action dragonball movie… although i liked lead actors (they are all right no complains), the film is a total failure, there is nothing enjoyable about it.. I mean absolutely nothing.. I think the 1989 Chinese version was better… The good thing though is that its DragonBall Evolution… lets hope for the re shoot with the original name and better script (which is actually easy to do, cause this one was so bad that actually you can’t make it worse).. lets hope for DRAGONBALL ! not for a rape like evolution again…

I saw the movie…i was a fan of the show but this movie made no sense! It was crazy and Oozaru was a demon in it? it was confusing and weird. Even if Dragon Ball had never been a show the screenplay sucked. The movie is fine up until they meet yamcha

quick question, why would you build the Tournement Stadium if all you are going to do is have one scene that takes place there? (Excluding the ending scene where nothing happens)
I saw the pictures of the whole stadium that they had up on this website, pretty shameful they didnt use it

Ok so i watched some of the movie from that Japanese you tube site. You guys that are posting reviews based on the bootleg that is there are asses. The video isnt even a full 70 mins and i only watched about 5 mins of it and you can tell that it was missing scenes. I will be seeing it in theatres before I pass judgement on the film. All honestly the 5 mins I saw didnt look that bad even the school stuff. I never did really like the dragonball cartoon and dont know the story there. I always liked DBZ. So atleast when i see the movie I wont be able to bitch about it not being like the anime because I dont know what happened in the Dragonball anime. Hell in DBZ i use to always wonder why Krillin was afraid of Piccolo. Well atleast now i know why. Piccolo was a crazy S.O.B who wanted to destroy the earth. Well when the movie hits the US I will be in the theatre and check it out and be able to enjoy it because I wont have to compare every stinkin detail to the anime!!!

I wonder if james wong really was given $100 million. If he was given $100 million dollars where the hell did all the money go?they must of lied about the 100 million dollars.Judging from the movie, it looks like the movie was made on $25 million.Either james wong was given much less to direct or he really really sucks at directing. I think its the latter.

I’ve been a fan of Dragonball/Z/GT since I was 14. I’ve seen all the eps, the movies, the OVA’s and even read some of the comics, so I think I’ve earned the right to say that this live action movie is a pathetic and disrespectful attempt at an actual movie. I’ve already seen it and lemme say that the action is far below sub-par, the cast was questionable (especially since asians are in almost every part EXCEPT the hero role!!)) the storyline was stupid and far from resembling anything close to what happens in that universe (Goku in High School…are you serious?) Anyway, I’m not here to sway minds and hearts, but any TRUE fan of the Dragonball series will see this movie for exactly what it is……..a slap in the face!

This movie will fail bad

Has anyone seen the movie yet on the internet, I did. And if you did and your a DBZ fan and if what I saw is the real movie you are gunna be piiisssssssssseeeedddd. It was only 1 hour 10 mins and is a kick in the balls even greater the superman himself can give, and trust me thier will be no part 2 or 3 if it is infact the real thing. And if and when you see this in theaters you wont be going back a second time. As a matter of fact some people might burn some of the theaters it is played in because it is that bad and will let down every DBZ fan in the world and will make some people make seriouse fun of you for being a DBZ fan. But the movie I seen can’t be the real one it just can’t be. Let me know what you think if you have seen it already. And if you have you will agree.

hi im frm asia and i’ve seen the movie. trust me when i say this; those opening box offfice numbers are just average for such a huge title; dont forget the fact that it has a riduculously large fanbase in asia to begin with. dragonball have not got much competition only race to witch mountain and some other generic stuff. Apparently the dragonball movie got slammed in reviews on the local newspapers. race to witch mountain did get better reviews. and its a kiddy movie. what does that tell you about the movie? you make ur own conclusions

well for those who hate reading bad reviews, i give u the consolation of the fact that the movie is ever so slightly better than street fighter: the legend of chun li. just dont look where it ended up.

I saw the Movie and I hoped that it was as good as the Godzilla . Wrong, Wrong.
I can say that this Movie won’t get in theaters in Europe.
It could be a Monty Python’s Movie or a scary movie… but not a real dragonball Movie.
I can’t say if I am sad or angry, but this isn’t worth a dollar.
Its just not worth anything.

i just saw the movie it’s not a great movie. if i had to rate it from 1/10 i would give it a 7. 1. too short 2. they should have gave more in to the story 3. a little more fighting 4. the ending when goku was fighting piccolo that fight just by itself should have been longer. that just what i think. i still might go see it i’m not sure i just can’t let it crash and burn like that. and i was also a supporter of dbe movie.:(

Hello, This thread is supposed to be about box office so, I have no idea why people are just writing whatever the hell that they want to, I worked in research for an agency in los angles, and I can say this is good considering the fact that your example watchmen has not done much better in some of these markets in japan, watchmen is at 1,126,244 compared to 3.3 million for opening weekend of dragonball. so you can see the numbers do not lie.

Japan = 1,126,244
Thiland = 699,337
Singapore = 687,475
