i hope the deleted scenes are long
do u guys think one of them might be the original final battle?

  9. Zgirl
    May 20th, 2009 at 14:04 | #9

@mamow: Oh one of them BETTER be! lol, Then again that scene might have been one of those things that were just condensed but not done differently, so can you technically consider it a”deleted” scene? Anyway I hope either way that its included.

@mamow: Yes I’m really thinking that the original battle is one of the deleted scenes and if it isn’t, then I’ll be pissed as hell.

86 min runtime does not include deleted and extended scenes. thats y ther called deleted. so i suspect the runtime was some wher in the 90-100 min range b4 things got deleted or cut down. deleted or extended scenes usually run a bit long(maybe 3-6 min) and most of the time are found unnecessary in progressing the story along. my hopes tho r that some of the fight scenes were a bit long and maybe a bit violent and those r things they needed to cut. i also read somewhere that thers an intro scene were mai and Pilaf(dont quote me) r the ones who release piccolo, and piccolo kills pilaf and makes mai work for him. doesnt matter to me, im buying both versions anyway. 8)

  23. May 20th, 2009 at 23:43 | #23

Lets really hope these deleted scenes will add more sense into the movie. Btw, Goku’s training video? It better be good to help tone a body XD

Well, my kids and I have been Dragonball fans from the git-go and I will most certainly will be buying this movie when we see it released here in the States. There were some things about the film I didn’t particually care for to be honest – I wanted a more epic battle between Goku and Piccolo, I wanted the calling of Shenron to be either more intense (for this movie) or more relaxed (Goku has always called the Dragon in a relaxed and friendly manner) but not as it was done as well as a few other things. But, all-in-all I have to say I did like the film and thought it was a good ‘alternate reality’ to the actual DB universe. So, as I said, it’ll be joining my DVD collection the day of its release.

How did I get a hyperlink in my post about losing weight? I didn’t put it in there and have no products to sell to do so. Has to be the web site and how it generates revenue.

You are all forgetting that this is the regular DVD. We still have the “Z-Edition,” which will definetly have more features (and possibly an extended cut).

  29. ssjgoku
    May 21st, 2009 at 07:44 | #29

yeh this will probably just be 1 disc edition, because the special features on this would be pointless to put on two discs, hopefully Z edition is more hardcore

    May 21st, 2009 at 09:16 | #30

its pretty much the same,,, and by the way, in general, the deleted scenes dont add much, thats why they were deleted,,, if you expect a super fight between piccolo and goku in the deleted scenes, you are in for a big dissapointment
they would never cut out the best of a movie,, so i dont expect anything a whole lot better that what we already saw in the theaters

i will still buy it, but only to support the dragonball franchise,,, if the dvd fails as badly as the theaters, then probably no one will ever do another dragonball movie,, and dragonball deserves another chance,, fox doesnt, wong doesnt, but dragonball does

Im sure that the z edition will have alot more than the normal dvd. this is everything that just fits on the one disk so those that think this is all…well….think again sirs and ma’am’s

  33. Tester
    May 21st, 2009 at 12:25 | #33

@mamow: DVDs outside America and Japan (PAL format) are usually sped up slightly as part of the conversion from film, so they run a few minutes shorter. So an 82 minute DVD from Europe means an 85-86 minute DVD in Japan and the US and the content is still the same.

To bad it’s not up to dragonball it’s up to fox now as much As I agree I want to see another movie an a better one wake up. Fox owns the rights they decide what goes now if they sold the rights I’d be suprized and if anybody would actually by the rights I’d be even more suprized seeing the hate this movie got.

the movie runtime of the version i saw, was something like 1:21. thats 81 mins. so if the dvd version is 86 mins long there is at least 5 mins extra :D

i’ll be def buying it. but i have to wait forever cause the movie will be released on June 11th in germany :(

  38. May 21st, 2009 at 17:17 | #38

i hope the u.s. release of the dvd and blu ray will have a ton of bonus features, extended runtime, audio commentary, bloopers, and a choice to watch it in english or japanese!
