Deleted Scenes Explained

Wondering which deleted scenes will be included in the upcoming DVD & Blu-Ray release? Well, ponder no further, as the BBFC has revealed the titles and length of each of the 8 scenes.

00:01:19:06 GOKU LEARNS ABOUT KI (DELETED SCENE)
00:01:22:05 GOKU LIFTS CAR (DELETED SCENE)
00:01:16:03 GOKU MEETS BULMA (DELETED SCENE)
00:00:31:14 GOKU SEES HIS BIRTHDAY CAKE (DELETED SCENE)
00:01:55:14 EXTENDED MONTAGE TO STONE TEMPLE/STONE TEMPLE SNACK BAR (DELETED SCENE)
00:01:42:11 EXTENDED FULUMS (DELETED SCENE)
00:02:00:03 EXTENDED SIFU NORRIS/ROSHI (DELETED SCENE)
00:00:49:22 MAI DIES BY STABBING (DELETED SCENE)

    people dont seem to understand. you dont HAVE to change the source material to adapt it to film. they should’nt have changed shit. i would’ve been happy with the talking animals if it meant it was more like the manga. Also…they should have based the film on the cartoon, not the manga. but really i dont think that was a big deal. they COULD have made a better movie. FOX didnt care, and its painfully obvious. F*** FOX! they dont care about fans. Why are they even in the movie biz?!?! FOOLS!!!

    all the actors did a real good job with the cards theu were dealt. Chatwin is a good choice for goku. its not his fault the script was written in crayon.

    im angry because im a fan. im angry because DB has so much potential. but nobody seems to care about DBZ. nobody takes it seriously enough. thats sad. i truely believe that it takes a certain type of person to understand DBZ. and im one of them. how big of a fool do you have to be to think that DB and DBZ is for kids?!?! F***ing idiots. everytime i get mad about this movie i wish i could punch a FOX exec in the face. lol. i made myself smile.

    I think it will be fine, I like DBE alot. I thought the movie was good, the extra scenes sound promising to me. 11 minutes, and the original version was 89 minutes, so it would be 100 minutes (1 hour and 40 minutes) in the Z-Edition. You don’t have to protest this movie you protesters, Im not trying to fight back against you, but at least it is nice for people to defend the source material, but don’t b*tch at people who support it. Remember, turn that frown :x upside down :-)

    @goku jr: About what you said in regards to the whole spiderman and changed plot…usually mangas don’t get several adaptations like North American graphic novels. From what I used to know about mangas, the only continuation for a manga is to be changed into an anime, but majority of them are not rewritten by other people. And if I’m wrong then by all means someone correct me!

    @The Seeker: I agree with most of what you said, especially the fact that the people at Fox are greedy little bitches who only care about quantity over quality, and I’m not gonna lie I enjoyed Chatwin as Goku despite the shitty script. As far as the adaptation part, I partially agree with you too…uum I don’t see how it would’ve made a difference to base the movie off the anime or the manga cuz they’re EXACTLY the same, minus filler material. I can’t speak for everyone, but whenever I refer to the adaptations in the movie, I mean how they didn’t go in chronological order, or how Goku’s 18 instead of 14, or the whole Oozaru and Piccolo connection you know? And your right, using the whole animal thing or other extras like that would’ve been totally fine! But I still believe they need to make changes when making a movie like this because its too much material to cover, and most audiences probably wouldn’t like the story if it wasn’t relatable. Now that doesn’t mean you need to go off and do something stupid like putting Goku in friggin highschool! But you do need to show a side if his/all the characters that Toriyama didn’t get a chance to show (it was a WEEKLY manga people, VERY tough job to do!). Dragonball is unlike a lot of graphic novels or mangas because the material is soo (for lack of a better word) loose and malleable; you can and possibly should make changes, but making stupid ones (like the idiotic highschool bit) is where this director failed, and Fox is homo!

    I reeeaaally hope I made sense in there, cuz I have a tendency to ramble and miss my point lol!!

    since fox is planning a sequel and robert pattinson as vegeta, lets pray for a miracle, and for everyone who loves other anime as much as this, fox is making more anime films, next one cowboy bebop! if fox gets to more loved animes/mangas i will march over to fox and i will protest

    @Zgirl: yea there was only one anime that has been told many times and that anime is full metal alchemist (even though the manga is still going on….)

  11. May 27th, 2009 at 15:40 | #11

    The sequel may be planned (or was planned) but rob pattinson will not be vegeta that was just an april fools joke.

    @KEOLA

    joke or not, fact are facts. rob pattinson was seen coming out of the studios with emmy, and are working on a project together. its not for certain that its DB, but thats how studios release info sometimes. it starts as a joke or rumor, so they can see what the reactions would be.

  14. May 27th, 2009 at 16:25 | #14

    @kame: It’s not a db project

    ” Yesterday, Emmy was seen around Venice, California arriving to and leaving a studio. Later that day, Twilight star Robert Pattinson was seen leaving the same studio, leaving some interesting speculation. Pattinson is set to star in a new movie about two lovers whose newfound relationship is threatened as they try to cope with their respective family tragedies. It’s called Remember Me. ”

    This is a link to her fan site they should more info there

    Fox did the same thing with X-men. There was 11 minutes of extra footage that could in no way hurt the movie, yet it wasn’t included

    yeah…these scenes don’t seem worth buying the DVD. i was only gonna buy it if they extended it with useful scenes. the only thing that sounds remotely interesting is mai getting stabbed. i’m disappointed… :(

    Stephen, like most ppl u havent seen the original Terminator in while, because if u had you wouldn’t dare say T4 was better than T1. My personal fav has been 2 for a long time, but when I got older, I realized just how deep and beautiful T1 was. SO now they’re tied to me. T4 is better than T3, but still doesnt touch the level of T1 and T2.

    I enjoyed T4 and even saw it mid-night, but was disappointed to an extent. I expected more. The movie had great acting, dialogue, music, and an interesting story, however there was still somthing missing. Something just felt off. Then after seeing it again I realized it was the scenes themselves, the wrong scenes were too long and drawn-out and the right scenes were too short. Which as a result gave somke boredom at times when watching it. They also ruined alot with the trailer, because the movie was trying to keep Marcus’ identity of being a “robot” a secret but if you saw the trailer you knew what he was, so all that “attempted” build-up and mystery was boring since you already knew the reason for it. Savy?

    I dont care if this ha snothing to do with DB, I saw a post about Terminator, which I know thoroughly and had to do what I do best, school.

    I’m still getting it, that’s still extra 10 mins of footage that we haven’t seen at the end of the day and the gag reel is always fun!! Someone was saying summat about you don’t have to change things for it to be an adaption………..ummm, then it wouldn’t be an adaption would it? duh! if they didn’t change anything it would be the same as the original, therefor, not an adaption.
    idc how many haters there are towards this movie. The movie ruled in Asia, it made enough money to carry on with something even better and tbh this is probably the best live action anime made.
    Bring on an even better sequel!! :mrgreen:

    Hey! I got to see the movie just yesterday! I was madly excited about the movie before I had seen it but now after seeing it, I’ve got lots and lots of questions as the movie has confused me and dissapointed me also! I can’t believe that I am saying this! But i guess the deleted scenes have got many answers! I truly feel that they rushed in the climax of the movie! They should have explained the stuffs more clearly! Like… most of the firsts are at least 2 hour long movie like spider man 1! Could anyone tell me why Piccolo was controling Ozaru? and how can a kamehameha revive a dead guy!!!??? :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:
    :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

    GOKU LEARNS ABOUT KI (DELETED SCENE)
    GOKU LIFTS CAR (DELETED SCENE)
    GOKU MEETS BULMA (DELETED SCENE)
    the most

    @vineetnov:
    roshi explained that reviving with a kamehameha thing,
    he said “Pain is good,” which makes sense, cuse they use electrical shock jolts to revive ppl,
    and they use electric shock to kill ppls too, although i think it was a lil annoying that they did that,
