    @Son Goku: The people who say it ruined their childhood are no different from my sis and bro. They were never into Dragonball the way I was, so number 1, they don’t remember a lot of specifics, and number 2, they really don’t see the series in a serious light. What I mean by that is how they don’t understand how unique and iconic the story and characters are, they just watched it because they liked action cartoons as kids! lol So yea they go around saying the movie ruined their childhood, meanwhile they can’t remember why they loved the series in the 1st place! And they don’t want a sequel because they just don’t care enough. I personally disagree and would be very curious to see the story in the hands of someone with vision or an ounce of creativity!

    @DPA: yea I guess I understand what your saying, buut what are you supposed to call another Dragonball movie if Fox is still gonna do it (emphasis on if)?! Facts are DBE was based off all 16 DB mangas (a very STUPID idea btw), so they are done with all the DB stories and other stuff in there. I’m guessing they would want to continue with DBZ and start introducing those stories and characters, but again what are you supposed to call the next one?! Its not a reboot if they plan on using all the same people ( I only mention that cuz apparently the cast is on a 3 movie contract) and its from the same studio, so yea its a sequel that will have almost zero connection to the 1st one (like the hulk i guess). Is it a stupid idea? Yes! But do you expect anything different from Fox? I know I don’t!

    Oh and just a random thought…IF they do another one of these movies, they better not call it something stupid like “Dragonball: REBORN”!! I WILL go insane: like seriously I’ll go jigsaw on Fox’s ass! A word like “reborn” or “evolution” is just a retarded way of saying, “Yea we no we f***d up, buuut um we changed to title soo we’re good right?”

    Sort of like a Hulk treatment it wasnt really a sequel but it sort of continued the story. I say they just do Z movies an fix there previous screw ups. Will see if anything ever happens though I hope there not done making dragonball movies but who knows.

    OK we have well established this movie was a bomb and even the ppl who claim they liked it admit they wanna see much longer fight scenes, much longer movie, better story line, etc… This “Z edition” Is absolutely rediculous! FOX needs to quit the business of movie making all together. I mean they can make some ok TV series and the cartoon comedies they have rights to can be pretty good, but they have no sense when it comes to big budget projects. I can always tell the difference between a movie made by FOX and one made by someone else. FOX movies seem to have this cheap feeling to them, where they seem to get lower grade SFX, and CGI with bad scripts. I mean They put everything they can into Wolverine and even that movie pales in comparison to other companies bests. They get their dirty hands on rights to movies and they just do not know how to make a decent movie. I mean look at their box office returns for movies over the years. They rarely ever have a hit. The only time they make money is when they cash in off the already huge popularity of another franchise, IE. X-Men. Don’t go out there supporting a crappy movie company like FOX, They need to get their act together or just quit the film industry and stick to television. I’m sick of their low quality attempts that ruin perfectly good movies that have a real chance to be an amazing movie. Anyways, the cover looks cheap and the movie was horrible.

    Well Son Goku, as much as I would love to see a Dragon Ball movie, I hope FOX does stop making them and hand over the rights to a more capable company… I should just listened to my first thoughts when I heard James Wong was directing. The same dude that did the Final Destination crap movies that I didn’t like.

    @Boy: You couldn’t be more right even if you tried! Like I just saw “The Day the Earth Stood Still”, and yes I JUST saw it (as in 10 minutes ago :P )…omg Fox crap written all over it! They need to stick to TV or something, leave the movie thing to the real studios!

    @boy
    I realize that Fox execs can influence the course of a movie, as they want to secure their investment, but saying that big budget movies from fox are all cr@p and that they have cheap FX… come on! Fox is not an FX studio or a director, or even a producer! It’s a studio distributing movies. Star Wars was released by Fox, does it have cr@ppy FX? I’ll be the first to admit that most of the decisions this studio makes seem pretty idiotic to me, but overgeneralizing and blaming all to them is wrong and unfair.
    Also, the Final Destination crap movies you don’t like is a very successful franchise of its kind. Yhey make a lot of money from them, should they stop making them cause you think they are crap?

    @gram18: Yea Star Wars was also in the hands of George Lucas and Lucasfilm, that’s why it was amazing FX for its time. It had nothing to do with Fox.

    @gram18: Well you make a good point. I would rephrase that not all movies made by FOX are crap. But in general FOX seems to not put the effort or time into movies that other companies do, and it shows. Most of their movies have a specific feel to them that makes them less appealing than other movies produced by other companies.

    @Boy: Yea I’m realizing it more and more. The only movies they put mild effort into are the Marvel ones…then again not ALL of those movies did well…like that Dare Devil one. But yea they always end up a little short or spectacular, minus the X-mens and the 1st Spiderman.

    @Zgirl
    Exactly, the FX were made by lucasfilm because FOX is not an FX Studio. Fox does not produce the FX in any movie. Frantic Films VFX did most of the FX for DBE.

    @Boy
    Fox movies haven’t got a specific look, cause they do not specialize on anything having to do with the look of a movie. If I make a movie and the distribution gets handled by Fox, it will not magically get the “fox look” you mention, apart from their logo at the beginning.

    June 13th, 2009 at 14:53 | #14

    @gram18: Thats true. Mind you I wouldn’t say too many other studios have a “look” either. I mean there are some that do, but studio’s also need to be open to any type of audience so to stick to a look might not be in their best interest. However every other studio actually puts effort into their films by finding the right people to work on them, and Fox didn’t seem too concerned who got this project. lol Thats how I feel anyway.

    @Zgirl:
    I agree. I blame Fox as well for the nonexistent marketing, the low budget and for targeting the wrong audience with DBE. I just don’t blame them for the things they weren’t involved in, such as the FX, look of the film etc.

    Most of all I blame them for total lack of vision.
    It was really annoying after the disappointing opening in US, to read that it met their lower expectations. That’s how little faith they had in the movie and the dragonball franchise in general.

    June 14th, 2009 at 10:18 | #17

    @gram18: Exactly! They had zero faith in it the WHOLE time. Why did they even bother if they didn’t want to do it right? I will never understand that.

    This cover looks so retarded, unbelievable…
