loving the case
meaningless subtitle omg.. the last hope is destroyed..
and where is the fight Piccolo vs Goku…
this is my last day here on dbthemovie.com
this is SAD fox this is SAS
i was here 2 years but now good bye @ all
and ohhh.. F**** you FOX !!!
#2 GT-edition FTW! =D
I like the cover. Wish there were longer deleted scenes though…
Extended fight…
The whole fight scene was reshot I guess the idiots at fox wanted it to be kid friendly so I doubt it would have been on this DVD.
Why isnt Piccolo on that Cover too?
Damn it.
Pretty awesome how the Dragonball he’s holding is 3 times as big as the ones in the movie….
DVD was last chance to redeem this movie and it looks like a fail.
guys i think its safe to say, dragonball shouldn’t have been made by fox!!!
i’m protesting against fox for no more anime movies! leave those ideas to eiter paramount (awesome job with transformers) columbia or WB maybe even universal…. guys what was the last good film you saw from fox. I’m sorry, i’ve been a supporter of this movie and i was wrong
Cool. I like the new way Dragonball is written. I guess the Z-Edition wasn’t so significant. Well, this movie was sorta like a blend of DB/DBZ and that subtitle should help with sales. Regardless, I’m picking this up for sure. LMAO, master your balls! Thanks Adam!
goku jr
I see where your coming from but please dont be an idiot your protesting or anyone else for that matter is meaningless. People seriously make me laugh my ass off.
if “Z-Edition†is just a meaningless subtitle. WHY THE F#!# did fox stick it on there, OMG FOX is sooo STUPID..
WOW THAT LOOKS ULTRA CHEAP
protesting is very important. it lets film makers know what the fans want to see. or what we dont want to see. F*** artistic expression…give the fans what they want, dammit! i so badly want a respectable DB movie. thats why i get so passionate about this. i want a REAL DBZ movie. its laughable how bad a job FOX did.
i cant believe this is what they give us, sure i’ll get it but damn, it isn’t very awsome is it,
To all those talking about protest,
Think about this even if the signatures were acquired and presented before the court who would win a film studio that can hire the best lawyers, or the raging fan boys that sound like spoiled children that didn’t get their way? think about that for a second and tell me what you com up with
*come up with
wow looks like shit haha it looks like some amature photoshop student made that
@KEOLA:
The protest are futile.
But this cover work is unacceptable for a big studio. We have some better fan work of DVD cover’s in the forums. This is a just a sloppily put together DVD cover that took 1 minute or so on photoshop.
Quite the horrendous cover. There is no justification for such a mediocre job other than Fox really could care less about this franchise and this film.
i’ll still buy it for the sequel.
@Craig: Yeah I agree the cover ain’t all that.
@the truth: what did they win? a stupid internet war that makes everyone involved (both sides) look like children? how is that something to be proud of?
Nobody “won” anything.

Why isnt Piccolo on that Cover too?
Damn it.
naturally piccollo isn´t in the cover only because fox put him as a very secondery character (that´s funny is the vilion) dam it, and the few seconds marshal was in the movie he was great…
and really

Haters WIN … Haters WIN !!!!
you seem very happy for the movie sucked what kind of dragonball fan are you i didn´t like the movie so i´m sad very sad
the truth:
There was nothing to win.
@Craig: yeah, its pretty obvious by now that fox couldnt care less about this film,, they did everything wrong,,, i wish they had never gotten the rights to dragonball, if only warner or paramount had gotten the rights,,,
the saddest thing is that after this horrible failure, no other studio might want to get the rights to make a dragonball movie .. ever
i truly hate fox, badly
I could’ve made better cover art and so far I’ve only finished my 1st yr of graphic design…infact it wouldn’t surprise me if Fox was so cheep that they gave the project to a newbie! Aaand @The Seeker: Protests are dumb because the only thing a studio cares about is money! If the movie doesn’t make enough of a profit, they dump it, soo protesting is one of the most pointless ideas ever.
I don’t doubt that the director and producers were planning for a sequel, buut after all this time passing and nothing reeling in except poor numbers and whiny internet blogs, I wouldn’t be surprised if Fox trashed the idea by now. And I’m not saying that in a “Yay DBE sucks” kind of way, because I still REALLY want to see a sequel, like I want it in the most pathetic way imaginable! Either way Fox should just be ashamed of themselves! How can you be a major movie company and shoot out pointless crap like this?! I don’t get it, never will…and yet I’m still buying this movie…just so I can say I own it
! Yes I’m THAT stupid!
OH and one final rant/off comment to every “fan” (aka haters) who refused to see the movie BEFORE IT WAS EVEN OUT, your just as much to blame as the people who made this movie!! You just proved to the studio AND other studios that DB ISN’T PROFITABLE! Are you happy with yourself; like did you gain some imaginary sense of power for being a closed minded prick? Well if you are, congrats I guess…
Z-girl
No offence but what you just said was pointless. Your basically saying that the movie bombed because of certain fans, that point is wrong this movie probaly would of made an extra $100,000 if every fan went to go and see it. The reason why this movie bombed because of the lack of promotion.
This movie needed millions of more money to be classified as a success and no matter how many fans who didn’t watch the movie
would of changed the fact that the movie bombed. If every fan went to go and see this movie the gross renvue would of not made much of a change as of the renvue we have know.
Dont blame the fans blame fox.
I don’t much care for the Amazon placeholder image since it’s taken from my least liked onesheet for the movie. It was actually just a lazy cut and paste of several character-centric onesheets.
However, as for the coverart shown here and in DVDactive, I hope that’s far from final. They took one of the Goku-centric onesheets and merged it with the group onesheet which was also used (in a slightly modified form) as the artwork for the score CD. I much prefer the original group onesheet with Goku holding the 4-star Ball.
As I guessed, the disc itself is a port of the Japanese BD/DVD release with the exception of the Japanese dub track and Japanese audio commentary. I don’t get why they’re holding off on an extended cut for this.
Is anyone else bothered by the fact that Goku is wielding the Power Pole in that coverart image when he never wields it in the movie? Sure, he walks around with it but he never uses it in any combat situation.
Now I know it’s been well documented that there was footage of Roshi using the Power Pole and there is supposed to be a sequence where Piccolo slices the Power Pole with his sword whilst fighting Goku.
I just think it’s a bit of a slap in the face of the fans to show an image like that on the cover of the movie when footage of that nature will not be in the actual feature. It just sets a false expectation.
I figured all the DVDs were gonna be called Z edition cuz of the deleted scenes etc. I never expected more than that >_>” I dont think there will just be a DBE DVD.
#29SSJ4Pikachu
I kinda figured that out to.
Like adam said nobody won anything we all lost with this movie doing bad. An still to those who think protesting makes people listen give me a break? If fox actually gave a damn what you think then they probably would of changed the movie around an they didnt. I didnt mind the movie it wasnt what it should of been an I wish for a sequel or a reboot but at this point who knows if it will ever happen.
Did they photoshop everyone to look different? Roshi’s shirt is the same color, Goku has the Final Gi which he didn’t have in previous pictures, and…I don’t know. It looks really photoshop.
Wow, I gotta admit i liked the movie but this cover is really kid made, straight up the fans deserve at least the movie poster one instead. Come on Fox
Lol, very sneaky Fox, they combined both of these images for Goku on the cover:
http://dbthemovie.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=7&pos=5
http://dbthemovie.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=7&pos=1
I examined the cover on photoshop and it looks like his arm isn’t even attached to his body.. They smeared Roshi’s shirt too.
If there is a Z edition then does that mean there will not be a Z sequel?
@zgirl
your right protest are pointless and yes the “fans” who watched it before the movie was out is to blame but so is fox. the reason why fans are the reason is because they are the reasons that it didnt make so much, you saw it online, saw a rough cut of it, said it was missing stuff that was in the trailer insted of seeing it in theaters knowing that everything that was in the trailer was actually in the movie and them spreading that around helped the haters with their quest to make sure the movie failed and thats what caused the movie to not make so much money. Now fox on the other hand is the dumbest company of all time, they release the movie knowing it was going to be leaked online in the first place which is what caused people to hate it the way they did. now fox you need to realize that releasing a movie on different dates is an idiotic idea. also the promotion of the movie in america didnt help much either. you were more focused on the other parts of the world other than america, you put all your money into selling in the wrong places. in japan you dont ever see american trailers as much as japanese trailers i know i lived there. so why promote so much there than here when american money is worth more than asian money? fox you have the be the worse company in the world. stick to television.
i hope we get a reboot in a few years…or now. if no reboot, then i hope a REALLY REALLY good sequel gets made. i don’t really see how a good sequel will be possible as long as FOX is in charge, though…sucks. i really looked forward to this movie.
Neat cover.
I see this website is still censoring comments, rigging poll results, and starting favorable rumors all under the guise of a fan site. I often use your site as an example of bad corporate ethics when I blog on other fan sites related to the DB franchise.
Listen good, the internet will not turn into a giant mall where you can infiltrate hard to reach sub cultures to line your pockets. It is a tool for communication, and with this tool we may protest. It’s time you come clean and report the true nature of this site, and admit your pass transgressions against the fans that never got their voices heard. This voice I foresee will be among them.
AntiSpiral, I delete comments that contain excessive swearing, links to pirated material, or general unneeded and obnoxious behavior. This is a fan site and you are a moron if you think otherwise. I gave my review and expressed my frustration on the movie, even though I didn’t need to because this is MY site and I can do whatever I please with it. If you don’t like it then leave, but please stop with your conspiracy bullshit. And the polls are not “rigged,” that’s absurd. Some people like the movie and vote 10 (this IS a fan site), get over it.
It’s actually quite hilarious that you think my website is in any way related to the production. I guess you just ignored all the cease and desists I’ve gotten from Fox, and all the times I’ve bashed their decisions (and even the movie). You need a life. It’s just a movie based on a kid’s cartoon, not a big government cover-up.
Looks Cool
i am very disappointed on the bd/ dvd release.
@AntiSpiral
You are an idiot. nuff said
i think stephen chow should have dircted the movie. this is my last day i will look for info on dragonball movie and sequels because because dragonball is truely dead ): i waited 2 years for a badass action db movie and got a good but far from badass. thanks for all the news adam.
first they edit the face, then the outfit, then the arm holding the dragonball
*%$#ing stupids
At first I gave Ben Ramsey and James Wong a chance, But know both of them are terrible. Reading 1 of ben ramsey’s drafts and seeing the final direction to the movie and Wong’s re-written script they all bad.
Some parts in the final script was terrible it sounded like James Wong added words that he thought sounded cool an example is Air Bending. He sounded like he watched avatar not dragonball. The first time i watched the movie i was really lost i couldn’t figure out what was going on. Too many parts in the script didn’t make sence and so many plot holes. James Wong is a very bad director and script wirter in my opinion.
If there is a sequel wich i dought there will be Ramsey and Wong should stay far away as possible i wish fox could to but they own the rights. Look at this terrible piece of art work, It’s shamefull fox dont care about dragonball but atleast care about the quality this dvd cover is terrrible and atrocious.
why isnt piccolo there?
is it just me or is the dragonball goku is holding like 3 times bigger than in the movie?
@AntiSpiral: youre a freakin moron….
the Z is just there so fans will buy it. it won’t work. just watch the DVD/Blu Ray fail in sales.
*sigh* bad photoshop too. not like i could do it easily , but still bad
this should have benn the cover for the dvd http://www.localsadda.com/imagesa1/Dragonball%20Evolution%20(2009)-poster.jpg and this for the blu-ray something similar like this http://warezgator.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/dragon-ball-evolution-usa-psp_1.jpg
