I agree. I blame Fox as well for the nonexistent marketing, the low budget and for targeting the wrong audience with DBE. I just don’t blame them for the things they weren’t involved in, such as the FX, look of the film etc.

Most of all I blame them for total lack of vision.
It was really annoying after the disappointing opening in US, to read that it met their lower expectations. That’s how little faith they had in the movie and the dragonball franchise in general.

@gram18: Thats true. Mind you I wouldn't say too many other studios have a "look" either. I mean there are some that do, but studio's also need to be open to any type of audience so to stick to a look might not be in their best interest. However every other studio actually puts effort into their films by finding the right people to work on them, and Fox didn't seem too concerned who got this project. lol Thats how I feel anyway.

Exactly, the FX were made by lucasfilm because FOX is not an FX Studio. Fox does not produce the FX in any movie. Frantic Films VFX did most of the FX for DBE.

@Boy
Fox movies haven’t got a specific look, cause they do not specialize on anything having to do with the look of a movie. If I make a movie and the distribution gets handled by Fox, it will not magically get the “fox look” you mention, apart from their logo at the beginning.

@Boy: Yea I'm realizing it more and more. The only movies they put mild effort into are the Marvel ones...then again not ALL of those movies did well...like that Dare Devil one. But yea they always end up a little short or spectacular, minus the X-mens and the 1st Spiderman.

@gram18: Well you make a good point. I would rephrase that not all movies made by FOX are crap. But in general FOX seems to not put the effort or time into movies that other companies do, and it shows. Most of their movies have a specific feel to them that makes them less appealing than other movies produced by other companies.

@gram18: Yea Star Wars was also in the hands of George Lucas and Lucasfilm, that's why it was amazing FX for its time. It had nothing to do with Fox.
