They really fuck up when the made the dragonball evolution PG because that took away what made dragonball what it was. I mean they could have easily made it PG 13 at the least, it would’nt have hurt anybody by them doing so. They were just so greedy and want to hurry up and rush the movie for quick money. This should be a lesson to everyone, when you don’t listen to the fans you suffer the ultimate consequence of movie failure. This should be common knowlegde to all directors out there. hopefuly the learned their lesson which I highly dought.

I think I reboot would be outstanding, and makes more sense then a sequel to DB:E. It also makes sense for them to already by thinking about it, they made close to 60 million on a crap movie made for 45 million. They made decent profit, and they know everyone hated it. As stupid as Fox is, they do realize an oppurtunity to make some money. They make a reboot with a new director and a new script, if not a new cast as well. Spend more money, do more promotion, and make more money. It seems to me, at least, that there is talk going on a Fox, whether it be a sequel or a reboot. There are no new ideas in Hollywood so a new Dragonball is not out of the question.

Yea keep dreaming for a rated R DB/Z movie …anyway the only reason I still think it sounds like a sequel instead of a reboot is because in this statement by this Abraham Sullivan guy, he never uses the word reboot…he sorta implies it, sorta doesn’t. Its still too early to tell, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they abandon the whole thing once DVD sales come into play. In fact I’m a little shocked that Fox is already talkin reboots or sequels this early on, and with such poor numbers. I obviously want to be wrong about this, and I still hope that all these rumors are true, but its just too soon to say anything to be honest.

@SSJ4Pikachu: First of all, I don’t need a lecture about DB being an adventure comedy, and DBZ being much different. Everyone knows that, and yes a lot of people forget that. In fact, I’ve always felt that Toriyama still kept the comedy going even in DBZ, it was just less frequent. Now in the movie, they took out Goku’s extreme moronic behaviour, so I don’t get what your talkin about with the whole no balls deal. Besides, Chatwin may be 25/26, but he was playing an 18yr old, sooo again, I don’t understand what the big deal is (he doesn’t look like he’s in his 20s anyway!). And I never said I didn’t like that Goku was young IN THE SERIES! It was the most awesome part of the story, seeing him grow from a kid who kicked ass, to a true hero. HOWEVER, in a trilogy of movies, it just won’t work. Not because it isn’t appealing to us fans, but there just isn’t enough time to fit all that in. You’ll end up with something shitty like Benjamin Button, and spend too much time on your intro and not enough time on some of the other aspects of the character. So yea, starting him at 14, 15 or w/e, its just not a reasonable timeline for three movies…hence why they should do more than three, but thats not gonna happen. So, you end up with an older character, and start with a later villain.

Now if this is a reboot, and not a sequel, then maybe the young age thing could make sense. I personally don’t think they need to waist their time on the older villains and young young Goku, but it could work. If this is a sequel (and that’s the feeling I’m getting, u can disagree if u want) then going backwards age wise makes no sense whatsoever, even with the whole new direction idea.

And as far as the whole copy and pasting of the anime, I’ll say it again, IT DOESN’T MAKE SENSE FOR A MOVIE! A movie is only 2 and a half hours long (possibly), and there might only be 2 left, YOU CAN NOT FIT ALL THE SERIES INTO 2/3 MOVIES! There will be changes, and obviously they won’t copy each fight scene exactly as it was done in the show. Changes are realistic, and as long as the essence of DB/Z is there, who gives a F***?

@andyboy: Trust me, everyone understands that this movie was made for the kids! Thats the whole problem, ok? They targeted EXCLUSIVELY to kids, and they didn’t even try to appeal to ANYONE else. I’m not saying they don’t deserve to enjoy a DB movie as well (what kind of monster do u think I am lol), but if a kid can enjoy the Dark Night, then they will enjoy a better and slightly (for lack of a better word) “darker” DB movie. Anyway, I’m positive that most 15 year old actors can do a better job that the one Chatwin did (just look at the cast of Harry Potter, they have given a somewhat believable performance during their run). And regarding the asian thing, hell I don’t care if he’s asian or white but whoever plays Goku better be able to fight extremely well, be extremely likable and be able to play a believable dumb and not some forced version of dumb (and no thank you to strawberries in the reboot).

As far as the french fanmade video and the guy that stated that if they had a bigger budget, they probably wouldn’t be able to do something better, have you seen Brain Dead and the other early Peter Jackson films? if that was the case TLOTR trilogy would have ended extremely cheesy and would have bombed at the box office, mostly because what matters is the ideas and visions they have and they would hire a team of professionals to develop their vision.
