Raging Blast Video Interview
Producer of Dragon Ball games at Namco Bandai, Ryo Mito, was recently interviewed at Gamescom. He talks about some of the basics and what’s new in Dragon Ball Raging Blast.
Also, a Japanese source talks viewers through on how to attack in Raging Blast. The videos are in Japanese, but the game play is still enjoyable.

So Spike’s excuse for this game being retailed at $60 is what? Large stages (some of which are identical to those found in previous titles), 60 fps (even though every animation is also ugly for a next-gen console and identical to those found in previous titles), what-if stories (which judging how terrible they were in previous titles, aren’t worth playing through more than once and are a pain to listen to due to the crappy writers), and new online modes (which the Wii version of BT3 already has)?
What about the fact that this game has 92-less characters than the previous Tenkaichi game had despite the ridiculous amount of power the PS360 has compared to the PS2 and Wii? What about the fact that the physics engine used is the same? What about the fact that the graphics are around PS2-quality (I know the stages are large, but look at games like GTA IV or Bionic Commando ‘09). So this guy’s telling us that they expect us to pay his company $50 more than a game that has the exact same content and much, much more (BT3)? Get out of here, Ryo Mito! There’s no way SSJ3 Broly and one other mystery character, 60 fps, and online play is enough reason to charge $60 for this.
I don’t know why these interviewers never press the producers on at least some of these subjects. This game’s not worth more than $15-$20 and it’ll probably cost that much in a few months.
Even if you don’t own any of the previous titles, I strongly suggest waiting for Raging Blast 3 which will be out in due time (probably 3 years if Namco-Bandai doesn’t pump out Burst Limit games in between, then it’ll be 6 years if they do – but still, who would spend $180 for three of the same game with gradually more content instead of having patience and saving $120 for the third title?).
it looks like they spend more time making the backgrounds then the characters
Not to me. The backgrounds are extremely blurry and anything destroyed crappily just falls through the ground leaving the exact same crater, but the characters aren’t that good either. They look like they have like one shade of shadowing. Just compare that to how things looked in Burst Limit (not a fan of that game, just the character models and how they moved).
Another thing I’d like to add to what I said before. What about a create-a-character mode like in Namco-Bandai’s other DB game, Dragon Ball Online?
Here’s a video of the create-a-character mode in that game. It’s pretty awesome. Spike should take some queues:

I watched that video r u sure that is for raging blast or a different dbz game
@J
it think they should have charater creater to but with more choices ex: friezas race
Not a bad idea. They could have done some creative character designs with those.
It’s for Dragon Ball Online. I was saying Spike should do something like that for Raging Blast, though they seem to be too lazy to that…or anything else creative.
I dunno if I should buy or not. I mean… If it’s like all the Tenkaichi games… then it’ll just be the same right?
