Dragonball Kai

What is Dragonball Kai?
Dragonball Kai is a refresh of the Dragonball Z animated series. Updates include an upgrade to HD resolution instead of the standard resolution DBZ originally aired in, re-done voices by the original cast, and a new score by Kenji Yamamoto. Dragonball Kai aims to condense the series by removing most of the filler present in DBZ in an attempt to more closely follow the manga.

Why?
Aside from the obvious financial reasons, Dragonball Kai is said to be a celebration of the 20th anniversary of Dragonball Z.

When did this begin?
Episode 1 of Dragonball Kai aired on April 5th, 2009 on Fuji TV at 9:00 am in Japan.

When will it end?
When they’re finished!

How can I watch Dragonball Kai?
Dragonball Kai airs every Sunday at 9:00 am on Fuji TV. If you don’t live in Japan, you can either stream Fuji TV online as episodes air, or download episodes after they air using tools such as BitTorrent. For legal reasons we won’t go into detail, but it’s really not that difficult.

I find Kai to be very little to be excited about. The only new bit seems to be the opening/closing animations. I would expect a lot more if they expect me to get back into the series. I watched DBZ way too many times as a child to go back to it without some new plot twists and so on.

I’m not a fan of Dragonball Kai… I agree with FJGamer. But I don’t have a problem with other people enjoying it.

has anybody heard about when a part two comes out and i hope with support from as many fans both old school and anew would really boost the budget on a part two. But at least 20th century fox and funimation will stick to the store line

This is good, it was what I thought the original dbz in english should have been like, hd, cutting all the random comic/ filler stuff tat was typical anime add-on filler, so that we can focus on an awesome bruce falconer score (for english version) and the fully dramatic and epic dbz that people fell in love with

They said they will shorten the episodes.
Doesn’t that mean they’ll remove unnecessary scenes and trash scenes from DBZ? Because I like to watch it and an episode that gets to the point.
For an example, they stand for 30sec before fighting, not saying anything.

Is there going to be a new DBZ movie or animation or anything? I’m starting to watch all the DBZ movies, and watching DBZ Kai again. Just so damn awesome. I mean Gojeta, they need to show more of him.

They need to make a real DBZ Animation movie, that focuses from Bardock to Goku landing in planet earth etc All revised in 90mins or 109! With new drawings, sound effects and music. I love that music effect that plays in the DBZ movies. (sounds like a boiling water).
They also need to focus on more action rather than the stupid humour jokes:/

They’re on youtube search using this form

” dragon ball kai [episode number] english sub ”

example: dragon ball kai 18 english sub.

They’re mostly split in 3 parts but if you watch them in youtube HD they’re pretty good quality and you see the changes.

I’ve always been a DBZ fan and i believe that the show should come back to North America because many people still like the show and many would like to see it again in stead of going out to buy the dvd’s and going through the trouble of finding it on youtube put it back on television.
